New Hairstyles, Bottoms, Shoes and Accessories for the Paramaker
Happy Friyay everyone! Léa here to present our newest creations!
As usual, we’ve been working hard on adding new content for the Paramaker to create unique looks and new Parafolks. Time to show off a little!
New Hairstyles!
Locks have been highly requested, so naturally it was our duty to deliver! Sonia designed this amazing version for our Parafolks and we can’t stop using it.

Sometimes you need a good old classic, and that’s why I created the hairstyle below. We want everyone to be able to represent themselves and their loved ones!

Adding Earrings!
Some of our looks were missing their final touch: Earrings!
5 new earrings to compliment different looks and express your creativity!
But what about the other piercings on the ear? Well we thought about it, and made them combinable with the earrings. We will add more of them in the future, but in the meantime we hope that you’re gonna enjoy this simple helix piercing!

Like other elements of the PAM, earrings and ear piercings can be mismatched too.

New Bottoms and Shoes!
Sonia worked really hard on adding new bottoms and new shoes to our collection! We are trying to have as many common items as possible to be able to easily represent a wide range of people!

Sometimes you just want a very comfy pair of baggy jeans that will last you a lifetime, here is one for you!
Sonia brought back an oldie from the Chalet video! The shorts are also available in plain jeans to be more versatile! We added Mary Jane shoes to help create looks for the younger Parafolks.

One of the things that makes me look forward to this game is to recreate positive images of dark skin women. Especially from Southeast Asia. They aren't allowed to be positively represented on TV or media in countries like Thailand or Vietnam. And if they are represented, its either a negative stereotype aka Jezebel/Minstrel show trope or they will tan filter/paint a chinese person brown and call that "dark skin representation". Seeing this all the time made me lose hope but this game makes me excited for the future. I can tell the stories i want to tell. I just want to thank you all for making my dreams come true if this all makes sense. This post made me happy! Fuck these asian media companies, just give me paralives! <3
I believe that earrings follow the ears when you use the sliders, right? If you have an industrial piercing, with two points of contact, it could stretch to follow the ear too?

Parateam, per usual, I'm amazed by what you've done and how far you've come. Every update has been a treat. thank you for your dedication to the little details regarding the earrings. It's something I never knew I needed until you made it 😆 ❤️ the Paras are looking SO good. Beautiful job on the locs!!!!

Wow, this is amazingggggg
The earrings and piercings' ability to be combined is really interesting, as usual Paralives is doing its best to be customizable in every corner of the game ! Also, the Para modelling the jewelry and hairstyle is really cute... but I must admit I was really happy to see that old man (and for some reason, his jaw and neck). That guy looks like a person, and it's such a nice change from too-good-looking characters. That Other Game™ is full of characters that look like models ; I want to be able to create people that make sense in the world, who look like I could see them in the street, at the supermarket or in line at the movie theater. This guy is one of those ! Much as I like the existing "canon" Paras, I'm so happy to see how the tools can be used for someone like him.
Oh wow the dreadlocks are beautifully put together !! Sooo impressed with the level of artist flair in how the parafolks are looking now they have cone a long way !! 😍

I need a moment, I didn't think that missmatching earingss or piercings could happen. I am SHOCKED. But I love that so much! And the dreadlocks look so good on the para, the art work looks so polished and unique. Every Para looks cozy and I'll definitly be using that pair of loose jeans a LOT. Congrads for the hard work, team! You never cease to amaze me

Hi, I am ignorant. Can somebody explain the difference between dreadlocks and locs, if there is one? 🙂
(as a white person) there isn't really one, but DREADlocks has a negative connotation (note the dread), so people prefer the term locks/locs instead

Items aren't genderlocked, so these skinny jeans are already available for the men as well.
Is that last para a teen?
This looks incredible! I adore the look of the elder para. I feel elders are often an overlooked life stage in other games, so the care and detail you are putting into the elder paras is really exciting! Also, I was just wondering are you planning to make any curly hairstyles? Things like: curly buns with a curly fringe, loose curls, curly ponytails (where all the individual curls always seem to end up becoming one monster curl...), etc? As someone with curly hair (more loose curls than coils) it's often hard to find nice curly hairstyles in games. But, after seeing how gorgeous the hairstyles you've already created are, I'm really excited to see how you tackle looser curls!

I would love some long hairstyles for men. All men around me have hair somewhere between chin-lenght to mid back lenght and the overly styled women's hairstyles just don't look right. My bf even has like above shoulder and quite curly hair and it would be great to be able to create him. I feel like all games (and even cc) are lacking in this.
This is awesome!! The only suggestion I’d offer is to refrain from calling locs/locks dreadlocks. Dreadlocks had a negative impact and history that we as Black people are trying to overcome. The loc style you guys have created is so beautiful!! Just wanted to add some perspective for you guys. Thanks!!
Hi Charmen, thank you very much for letting us know! We weren't aware of the history behind the term and its negative impact on the Black community. We've edited our post and will now refer to them as locks!
This is great, love it, can you guys add a pearl necklace with those pearl earrings so they can match? I already see an old para wearing them in my head
not sure if anyone said this previous, but if we could have the option to lock accessories like piercings so we don't have to add them to each separate outfit ot would be sooo helpful (having to re-add piercings for each outfit is always a pain)
Loving the new additions. I don't recall if it's been mentioned if socks, tights and panty hoses can be 'layered', as in adding them under bottoms (or not)? Would be cute under ripped jeans and such. And maybe wearing knee-high socks over panty-hose and under a skirt or dress.
This looks soooo good!! For future reference, the hair should be called locs, not dreadlocks (negative history with that name - short for dreadful locs, which they are not!). I’m so excited for this game! Keep up the great work!!
Just curious: the word locks could also describe straight hair. If there's a negative history I definitely empathise with your wanting to change the word (I'm just plain British heritage Australian, lol, so I'm pretty ignorant of dreadlocks other than thinking they look really cool in different colours). But how would you differentiate the meaning from other hair, since blonde hair or any kind of long hair can also be called locks? Goldilocks was called Goldilocks for her long locks of blonde hair. I would click on 'locks' thinking it was for any kind of long hair. Is there another word too that would differentiate them better? Or perhaps all long hair could be categorised together, since it's all long, instead of separated by ethnicity? What are your thoughts?

oh my goodness, this made me tear up..... the amount of customization options available just sparks so much creativity!!!! thank you so so so much for creating this game with diversity in mind. as a 3d modeler myself, seeing all these unique models makes my heart warm, and the LAYERING + MIX & MATCH OPTIONS, ahhh! I seriously can't wait to see what other hair styles and outfits you create in the future!!! Bless you all, wonderful things you're creating here.

Great to see an elder para again! I think they look so good, like a real person, not a caricature. I don't like playing with elders in the sims, because they all look the same and are a silly parody of an old person. I feel like para elders will all look so different, with so much personality, that I can't wait to play with them! I particularly love the Mary Janes and biker boots, and the kid's shorts. Will all the clothing be wearable by all age groups, or will they be categorised by age?
Thank you so much! For now, we are planning on having the younger kids (babies and toddlers) have their own clothes, but older children would be able to access the same clothes as adults, with some exceptions (such as underwear)!
Nice, love the dreads and the different-side earring options! Definitely hoping to see more baggy clothes as well. It seems like a lot of the feminine para clothes are skintight

OMG thank you for bringing some rocker and metalhead representation to Paramaker (both for piercings and clothing items) - I feel that I'll be able to express and represent myself properly in the game AT LAST 😍♥️ (as the subculture is not that mainstream, I suppose, I feel like the options in other games were always limited in that department 😅). Love you guys so much and I hope for some more items (like some cool bracelets, and industrial, multiple lobes and conch piercings), and also some cool long hair for males ♥️ Oh, and I absolutely LOVE dreadlocks and the balding hairstyle for an older Para, they're so cool! ♥️

Awesome work as always! Two questions: - have you considered introducing asymmetry in paras faces? - have you considered releasing just the paramaker at first, so people could start creating paras before the early access? Thank you!
Hi, thank you for your questions! We are thinking of maybe creating an asymmetry slider at some point but not quite now :) As for releasing the Paramaker first, it's not something we're planning on doing at this time but it could be a cool option to discuss!
The locs are beautiful and the clothing and accessories are looking great! A while back I was a bit concerned about the Parafolks' appearances and how different styles would look on them, but this cleared any doubt in my mind; keep this up guys 😁

God, I LOVE how you guys approach the appearance of older parafolks. Like they actually feel rusty and old (in a good sense, heh!). Maybe I will finally be able to recreate my grandpa accurately in the game :)
