Creating Parafolks of Various Ethnicities

Why do people want to create themselves or their family members in game? I find that so ... odd. Anyway, the models look nice. I like the style

Just joined this community and I am beyond excited to see Paralives come to fruition!! In your first few post when you are showing the dressing room , the para-people already have so much character!! What an unbelievable task you took on and I am beyond amazed what you do at your desk; speaking of could we maybe see a behind the scene view of the makers ?? What does it look like for a day to day for you all , can you show us your vision board ect. Anyways if I’m being too nosey I get it , just really curious in ya’lls process. Woah! Add me to the chorus of voices wanting the darker skinned Para added to the premade roster! She has such a gorgeous, distinct look with beautiful facial features and that stunning hair compliments her amazingly. Really loving the commitment to diversity in the paramaker! I haven't always been the biggest fan of the para art style but as it has evolved and more and more paras are shown, I think the diversity in who you can create has really sold me on the look and now I just love it! <3

I also which you happy holidays! It's looking beautiful. I think it's really important to have the chance to have diffrent ethnicities. I'm a curly hair girl and I would say it was never easy to make me as a character. I'm looking forward! ^^

I would like more variety in afro-centric hair styles. Im sure you’ll add more later but there’s a lot of different textures & as a 4c curly girl that’s not what my hair looks like

this is looking incredible!!! i have a question, though: will the detail textures be separate from the skeleton/mesh shapes? like for example if we have our eye shape created and we are happy with it, but then decide actually we would like a different eyelid texture, will we be able to tweak that without having to lose the eye shape we are already happy with? (this is. something i struggle with a lot in the sims 4 lmao)

I love the hair! It’s nice to see some ethnic diversity, too!

1. The curly hair looks beautiful! The outlines around the curls really makes it pop and gives it life. 2. The update to the nose and eye texture of the paras really make a huge difference. Their features stand out a lot more. 3. I also appreciate the details that went into making older paras look realistic and yet fit the art style. I’ve noticed some critiques in regards to the older para but to me he looks like someone in their late 40s and I feel like that’s the look the team was going for. I feel like older characters don’t get much love and are often neglected and younger characters become the main focus. However, more of our life is spent older rather than younger so I love that paralives is giving us more options to make older Paras look realistic & attractive and not a stereotype/caricatures that most games make older characters looks. 4. The only critique that I have is that the Asian para features seem to wash out due to the brightness of the skin tone more so around the nose. The skin tone also seems a bit unnatural. Like their should be more of a brown or pink undertone. 5. Overall, I like the improvements and the game has some along way in 2022. I’m excited to see what 2023 has in store for paralives. I've seen you guys catch some hell for the development of the art style in particular (honestly seems to me that people were hoping for an ultra realism alpha cc simulator or something, after reading some of the critique. Always found it really silly, personally, but then I’ve never liked alpha cc in the first place lol) but every time I see a new update, I'm more impressed, especially given where the graphics began. It really is a beautiful blend of stylization and realism that captures these little details in the characters' faces without making them look grotesque. Super excited to see the Paramaker develop from here, given everyone's feedback!!

This gives me hope that I will be able to create attractive, hot adults in their 30s in this game. Young adults are pretty, but peeps with some life experience are more interesting imo, and their faces need to have more character. That other game (which I don't play anymore) focuses so much on young adults that it's hard to make slightly older adults who are still hot and don't just look old. Sex appeal doesn't just disappear when you leave your 20s!

I love that last para in particular, the hair variations are so cool. Happy Holidays to the team and have a good slide into the new year (thats a german saying LOL)!

These Paratests look amazing ! Their faces have so much character and it's fantastic to see the PAM being used to create such different features that all look unique and at the same time, not out of place (although the "older" one is less impressive than the others, but that's probably a matter of personal preference). We, of course, have seen diversity in the first few official Paras before, but some is good, more is definitely better ! Nothing could be worse than all Paras feeling similar ; I remember that was a huge issue a lot of us had with That Other Game 3™, for instance, and the community often felt that all faces ended up looking similar. Is the Paratest 1 wearing eye makeup ? Or is it their own skin color that has these red hues ?

Love the hair. One problem I've found in simulation games is that natural gingers are rarely represented well. We usually get something that's closer to brunette than ginge when making ourselves in games. I've got nice complex coppery hair which would be great to have in game.

Omg... this is such a great way to end the year. It's nice that the next generation will be able to make themselves in video games. Textured hair is never in games, and East/southeast asians are always an afterthought in north american media. Especially video games. It's real nice to see this

The research alone shows from the accuracy of how well you portrayed multiple people from cultures that can be used to truly immerse oneself (and Para) into traveling. We can actually edit neighborhoods to a certain physical shared traits and clothing exclusive to the area and travel the world! You've unlocked a level of immersion EA allows players to imagine for $$$. I love you guys. Keep up the incredible work. Don't even let me start on that gorgeous afro you blessed us with. I was already in love, but you straight up ripped my heart out and put it in your collection.

Please make a round afro hair texture that we can shape! I'd love to make one that looks like my mum. I love seeing my coily hair 😃

I also love that you’re taking great care to be inclusive and as a black person, I’m happy to see coily 4c hair highlighted. Hopefully for parafolk with with facial hair, I hope there are choices to match their hair texture. Like a para with coily hair can have a coily beard etc. Excellent work as always!

thank you for choosing this brilliant update for this year's last post! i think it would be great to see a whole bunch of Parafolk who are e.g. east Asian inspired, so we can see the diversity within a specific group if that makes sense. we've seen plenty of white Parafolk that look very distinct from each other and individual, and it would be great to see the same for other ppl.

I absolutely adore what you’ve done here. I know it’s a work in progress but each ethnicity shown here looks beautiful. The coily hair is especially stunning. Are you planning to do more types of curly hair? I know curly hair is sometimes talked about as having different ‘categories’, from loosely wavy (2) to tight coils (4): 2a,2b,2c,3a,3b,3c,4a,4b,4c. It would be really exciting to see a variety of curly hair, if possible!

Love seeing the diversity! I'm personally not big on the skintone of the first para (not sure what it is) and the asian para's skin seems too bright&yellowish to me. Otoh, that last para is absolutely amazing, and I would love it if she made it into the game.

Great to see different ethnicities being featured and considered in the beginning stages of the game instead of in random updates as afterthoughts. It means a lot to see that, especially as a Black woman, myself. Great progress on the game! Can’t wait for its release!

The face shapes look awesome! But east Asian skin tones aren't usually that shade of yellow. That para looks like her face can glow in the dark! It's not a big issue because I believe a while back you said you can change skin tones to any color but if you are to have presets, I hope you choose a different color. I know it's not the intention but this one comes across as "I don't interact with Asian people in real life and this is what I think their skin looks like."

I like how the para folk actually look like individual people. Whereas in a game that shall not be named.... The characters all kind of look the same because of the art style

I love the way the older guy looks like a real person, and not some comical caricature of an elderly person.

These new paramaker developments look great! Not a big fan of the beard as it looks too full and pasted on, but perhaps that's because I'm not used to that style of beard.
