Maggie's Summer

The summer is coming to an end in the northern hemisphere. I hope you had the opportunity to relax and take some time off. Maggie, one of our Parafolks, sure had a great summer! We thought it would be interesting to show you activities she did to relax over the hot season. This post is for Patrons only so please don’t share it, thank you!
Sitting Against a Tree
We are creating many different ways to sit in Paralives and one of them is under a tree. Perfect to read a book or just take a break in the park!
Laying in the Grass
Lying down outside during the summer is one of my favorite things to do! Here, you can see Maggie daydreaming while watching the clouds.
Smelling the Flowers
Flowers are also one of the great joys of summer. Maggie likes to take the time to appreciate them whenever she can!

I was confused about it being the end of summer in the northern hemisphere when I'm sitting in the middle of summer in the southern hemisphere, but say this was an updated post :D I like to think it's just about the southern hemisphere summer :P

I LOVE the flowers swinging along in the wind. The world already feels so alive
I love being able to just sit or lie on the ground! This should be so simple and yet it means so much, I love it :D
It would be nice to see the children showing interest in nature. Maybe they could grab their bug containers/ glasses or magnifying glasses to examine the "wildlife". Together with their friends it could increase the friendship level and amusement display. If they do this together with adults the focus might be more on concentration/ leaning. Relationship building as well but maybe less fun compared to same agers? (please free the bugs after having a look at them)
Maggie is such a cutie! Can I just point out the art styles between the characters and world are complimenting each other more than ever! One of my only complaints was the small discrepancies between the two styles and I know you guys have been hard at work on it. The results are splendid! Love that we'll be getting different sitting positions/locations. One thing I really think paralives will become known for is its close attention to the small details and the cozy chill vibe. I mean, sitting against a tree reading a book or just chilling is SUCH a vibe!

I would love if Paras could blow bubbles and pop them! That would be a really cute detail.

We haven't started to work on character autonomy but we would like Parafolks to be able to do things like this autonomously, yes. The details are still to be confirmed though!

I love this!
Simple and always overlooked in video games, but these interactions make the game feel good to play. When I have to pause a game for a task, it's nice to look over and see my characters working on something or relaxing somewhere, especially if their environment is nice.
I LOVE the sitting against a tree feature!! What a nice touch! You and the team have been doing really excellent work with all the little details :)
These are great. A nice complement to them would be thought bubbles with icons or symbols inside to reflect what the paras are thinking

I actually thought about it recently - will there be an option for the Paras to sit on kitchen counters? Maybe even sit down a child on the counter when the adult is cooking?
And more options: sit on the windowsill, on the armrest part of a couch, in the middle of the floor with crossed legs. Or with a couple when one is taking a bath and the partner might come talk to them and sit on the edge of the bath!

Those are some great animations/interactions with nature! I don't know if there are plans for (outside) temperatures but if there are, it could be nice for some paras to 'rejoice in the rain' or something if it starts raining after a long, hot and dry week. And maybe sunbathing when it's sunny outside? Might be nice in the future if the paras could also pick certain flowers.
Oh yes! Weather related interactions would be really cool and we will most likely be able to have some when we work on weather and seasons in the future!
Love it, youre adding interactions to almost every object! So cool for taking nice pics of our paras. I thought about an idea that you might like. Adding a "Spend the time around here" action where your Para just does this nice interactions with only the objects that are close to them. Like if you do it in the garden the para will smell the flowers, look for birds, whistle... Or if you do it in a room they will check the dust, look through the window, check books in a bookshelf... It would also be nice as an idling feature when you have autonomy disabled. So your Paras will still do things but without going too far from where you left them. :)
As a birder, I'd love for the Paras to be able to engage in birdwatching! Maybe have a bird feeder too?

It'd be nice if we could schedule hangouts or parties around having picnics or sitting around firepits. It might be nice if there were hammocks as well.
