New Video: Picture Frame Customization
Hey there!
This is a public Patreon post to share a brand new video about the picture frame customization features in Paralives! It's a public video so feel free to share it. We have shown you an early preview of these features in a recent Patreon post for Patrons only. Jérémie made some improvements since then including the option to have no frame at all (for posters) and the option to add extra padding around the image. Thanks to everyone on Patreon for suggesting these improvements!
Some things that are still to be done include improving the UI and adding more frames, swatches and images to choose from. We're working on plenty other features in other parts of the game and we're looking forward to share that soon!

I cannot describe how much I love this 😍 Unrelated but I just thought of it: would it be possible for plants (and other items) to "know" when they're placed next to a wall and not clip through? It annoys me so much in Sims that the pot has to be so far from the wall to stop the leaves clipping. Ideally I'm thinking that the leaves would mold to the wall (as in reality), but I can see how that might be impossible (or very glitchy). Just simply cutting off the parts that stick through would be fantastic 🌿
It's an odd little pet peeve of mine, but you clearly understand how much the little details matter, so I thought I'd throw it out there 😊
Love this! It'll now be so much easier to hang family/life photos, assuming in-game screenshoting will be a thing. I also love how this so simply remedies the "everybody has the same 10 paintings in their home." The selection to choose from is now essentially limitless without having to download endless CC. This level of customization is truly second to none in simulation games and I just love to see it. Also, the music! If that's the style we're going for, I'm happy. It feels so peaceful and fits this cozy game so perfectly.
Amazing! What would really be awesome if if we could apply our own pictures to books- cover and pages! This way, my writer para can have her own illustration books! Also, something that sticks out to me is that the gray pillow was shiny, which they shouldn't be unless they are leather.
Someone already suggested having digital frames, which I would also love! I built a legacy cemetery in Sims 4 and placed digital frames on 26 headstones which I believed would be great for family members to sit and view when visiting their dearly departed. The cemetery turned out awesome but all the digital frames shorted out when it rained! 😥 All my efforts and household funds wasted, along with my vision. If you have digital frames, please consider making the digital frames waterproof, too. I would love to be able to build the cemetery I envisioned. Thanks in advance for all the awesome creativity you guys are putting in the game!! ❤

I'm not gonna lie, the pillow was a big flex lol I love how detailed the picture customization is. I know when I play the sims, I feel much more connected to the families I create when I take the time to take actual family photos and then use a separate program to put the photos into a nice picture frame to hang in game. This makes that process effortless!

Looks great! :D Alex here is an idea for upgrading this... Maybe a Digital frame? like the pictures will change after few seconds? (you can set the pictures you want in a routine and they will change)

I absolutely love the system! So glad we will easily be able to create our own "paintings" this way.
Is there a size limit of the pictures we could add to the game?
The game will automatically adapt the size if the size is too big (to avoid making saved games too big). We are still working on that and testing the maximum size

I'd love a wrap around canvas "frame" option if it's possible (for photos unframed to not necessarily lay flat like posters. I love what you've done with this, and I'm excited to be able to bring my own art, drawing and paintings, into this game!

OMG, that's awesome how you can customize pillows the same way as pictures! And I love being able to size my own mat around pictures/paintings or have no mat at all.

I am purchasing my first home very soon. More and more, I am getting excited for how easy it seems to make my Parafolks' home look much like my actual new home!

The lighting in this game is so stunning! Visually you guys have come so far! It's aesthetically 100x better than any Sims game even with mods in my opinion.
