🌟New Hairstyles And Clothing Items For The Whole Family + New Team Member 🙋♀️
Hello everyone, Sonia here for your Paralives news of the week. Today’s topic: hairstyles and clothes! As usual, I created some random Parafolks with a little backstory to make it a bit more interesting. But before showing you that, we have an exciting update about the team!
New Team Member!
We have recruited a 13th person on the team, Lina, who will be working with Alice on creating more character animations and interactions for the live mode! She will be working with us until the end of the year and here’s what she had to say to introduce herself:
💬 “Hello everyone! I'm Lina and I will be joining the Paradev team as a 3D Animator! I have been animating on films and TV shows for more than 4 years, but it's always been my dream to work on a game like Paralives. My main passions are simulation games like The Sims, RPGs like Cyberpunk 2077, and of course, my two cats, Beerus and Mia. I am so happy and can't wait to start this new adventure!”
New Hairstyles And Clothing Items For The Whole Family
Here are our models of the day: 6 Parafolks from 2 different families, and I think the dynamics here are preeeeetty clear.
Getting along with your family isn't always easy for everyone, and it’s the kind of dynamic we also want to represent! Who has never argued with their mom after all?
Anyway, back to the main subject of this post: the new items. Let’s start from top to bottom!

Welcome Lina 😊 I must also say I love the short wavy bob hairstyle and the oversize hoodie 😍 and those black jeans 😍 Will we get more oversize clothing options like the hoodie or some black skinny high waisted leggings with some skate sneakers like the vans brand? That would look so cool 😎
I think the teenagers look great! Not just like sized down adults.
I’m glad another animator will be there to help! A life sim needs so many animations to really make it fleshed out and feeling real! Looking forward to seeing some more animation showcases in the future! Especially children and preteens interacting with one another and with adults!

I love that other parafolk will react to the discomfort or sadness of others based on what’s happening in the environment! This game gets more and more exciting to me haha
Wow, 13 people on the team now! You all continue to impress me with how you've found such a great stride on the art direction. It's so great to see the game essentially in its mass production phase with so many assets being created now to fill out the game. Are you all still on track for 2025? I will be there day one!

Welcome Lina! I absolutely adore this image and that mullet is sooo good! Is this a real interaction that can happen?! I love that the daughter is so embarrassed and the other family are so comforting.
That's not a real ingame interaction at the moment, it's a bit staged for the post but we aim to have that kind of result in the futur! :D

Want to extend a warm welcome to new team member Lina. Love the new clothes especially the short jean jacket. The facial expressions on the Paras look very realistic. Great job!
Great additions!! I have a quick question, as I don't know how difficult it would be to add into the development: is it possible to create long hair options, as well? My wavy hair is down just past my thighs, and I have rarely ever seen hair that long as an option in games. I just think it would be insanely amazing if that could be added it, but again, I don't know if that effort would be worth it for the most :/
You must have amazing hair! There's a few problems that come with longer hair unfortunatly :( They often go through the body on a lot of animation or body slider, they easily look stiff because we don't have hair physic outside of the paramaker at the moment and the texture could appear lower quality because we have a limited space on our uv's for hair
Hi Sonia, and welcome Lina ! That hoodie looks really comfortable. I have a purple one just like this, except it's in fluffy fleece, and I can't wait to wear it again next winter XD I wonder if I could find a "fluffy" texture to apply to this hoodie when the game comes out, hmmm... food for thought, certainly. The braid buns also look terrific, the fact that there's a different color for the row allows for a subtle highlight :) But I'm also very interested in the first screenshot with the two families. It's not that often that we have seen Paras display negative emotions, but there's some serious Karen face on the mom, and the confusion or sadness on the other Paras is very interesting because it shows them reacting to someone they're not directly interacting/in a conversation with. Is this a staged screenshot, or could this scene actually happen more or less like this ? Man, I know it sounds weird, but I'm like, super interested in negative stuff when it comes to simulations XD
Not weird (or bad) at all! It's natural to want to see realistic emotional range and life's conflicts/challenges represented in game. We do have a coffin bed for players to stage funerals, after all :P

It's not planned for now to have a bangs/no bangs variation for hairstyles but that could be a fun idea!
