Testing Paralives with Friends + Guess the Parafolk + Team Pictures ✨
Hello everyone,
Alex here to share a couple of small updates! As usual, this post is for Patrons only so please don’t share it, thanks! 🔐
🎮 Testing the Game with Close Friends!
Since we are planning to release the game in Early Access on Steam in 2025, we have now switched gear and we will be playtesting the game a lot more. Starting in a couple of weeks, we will be asking some of our close friends to come to our office to test the game every month. For the first session, they will be trying their hands at building houses. 🏡
Within the team, we are used to working with the build mode but we’re eager to see how people from outside the team play with it and to see which feature can be made easier to use and more fun in general. I’m sure that this will drive us to make many improvements and polishes and we will be sharing these with you here on Patreon!
Side note: we often get asked if Patrons will be able to test the game before the release. Unfortunately, it’s not planned. We can’t wait to let you play when the game releases in Early Access and collect your feedback on what we can do to improve the game. However, for now, we are already aware of the important features to improve so we will be sticking to close friends for our tests because it’s easier for us to watch them play right in front of us and see where they get stuck. I hope that makes sense!
🧑 Guess the Parafolk!
When you will be creating your characters in the Paramaker, in addition to using the dozens of body and face sliders, you will have access to presets of eyes, noses, mouths and so on. These will help you select something that is close to what you aim for before you then tweak the individual sliders.
To make sure that we have enough of presets covering a large array of people, Sonia attempted to recreate well known people:

💬 Game Developer Conference
A few weeks ago, I went to GDC, the annual Game Developer Conference. I went to 35 sessions given by different game developers from around the world. I learned many things, met people and I came back with a lot of ideas and energy. Also, look at my cool Paralives shirt in the picture above!
🐶 New Dog on the Team!
Have a great weekend and take care!

Hello puppy! 😍 I know #3 looks like Benedict Cumberbatch but I’m not sure about the others. 🤷♀️
It’s probably too early but does anyone know when legends will get to add their parafolk to the game? I can’t wait to play! 😍
They said, they will contact everyone when the time has come ^^
Nr 1 is gus from breaking bad (or Giancarlo Esposito). No idea who the other two are, but they look definitely familiar! But I also suck at actors though, so that just might be it! 😄
So excited to see this!
This has probably been asked before but will early access be available for mac or just on pc? So excited to play!!
I assume since its gonna be on steam it will work on either
1 seems familiar but I can't place him, 2 may be Samuel L. Jackson and 3 looks like Benedict Cumberbatch to me
Puppies!
2 is Samuel L. Jackson, 3 maybe Bruce Willis, if he shaved his 5-o-clock shade ? No idea about 1. Congrats on new puppy and surviving Sun Swallowing Event ;)
#1 Giancarlo Esposito #2 ? #3 Benedict Cumberbatch?
Cute puppy !
Don't know the first one but the second is Samuel l Jackson and the third is benadryl bandersnatch
Bendersnatch Cucumberhead!
1) Giancarlo Esposito aka Gus Fring from Breaking Bad 2) I have no clue 3) Benedict Cumberbatch
Number 2 made me immediately think of RuPaul and not Samuel 😭
I didnt know who any of those are and reading comments I know at least two but could not recognize them if the guesses are correct
I already posted on Discord but here again: 1 Giancarlo Esposito, 2 Samuel L Jackson, 3 Benedict Cumberbatch
Will we get a TL;DR of how the tests will go ? Especially when it comes to the build mode, which at this point I feel we know pretty well (at least as far as we can know it without having played it !) and can't be spoiled much about. I'm really curious about the feedback from people who are not Paradevs, and who might potentially not be devs at all ! I feel like it'd be super interesting to have even just a few bullet points of some of their impressions. Giancarlo Esposito is super recognizable. Would you do Nicola Coughlan next ? You probably don't take requests but just in case... Hey, careful, that weiner dog is not wearing the appropriate glasses !!! XD
I'd recognize giancarlo anywhere. the second is sam l jackson maybe???...not sure of the third one. And chloes new puppy is so cute 😍
Impressed with how well I can identify who those paras are! I'm excited!
1. Giancarlo Esposito as Gustavo Fring 2. Samuel L. Jackson 3. Bald Benedict Cumberbatch?
Giancarlo Esposito, Denzel, and idk
1 Giancarlo Esposito, 2 Samuel L Jackson, 3 Benedict Cumberbatch
An eclipse in game would be so cute! :’)
In this moment, I just wish to be your close friend to test the game. 🤓I would be always hanging out in the office😂😂😂
As another fan of BG3, I'm totally jealous you got to listen to the Larian developers speak! I think they are another great example of a team of devs who really care about their players and the quality of the game they put out. :)
#1 is without a doubt Gus Fring from Los Pollos Hermanos 🐤 Great job!
He is!! Thank you 😊
WHAT’S THE NAME OF THE PUPPY???❤️❤️❤️
Chloé's puppy is named Layton!!
When can we purchase paralives merch like that cool tshirt? :)

1. Gus Fring 2. RuPau????? 3. benedict cumberbatch for suree
almooost! #2 is Samuel L. Jackson :)
2 must be rupaul
Omg you might be right, that was the only one I couldn’t figure out
1 is Andre Braugher!
close! it's actually Gustavo Fring 😊
Did you give the doggy glasses for the eclipse viewing too? 🥺
we tried (https://twitter.com/ParalivesGame/status/1777508817208512760/photo/1) but they wouldn't stay on so we just put her little hood on so that she didn't look up at the sun 🥺
3 looks like Benedict Cumberbatch to me
3 is Andy Warhol?
close but no! 👀
1. Gustavo Fring 🙏 2. Samuel L. Jackson? 3. Is it Benedict Cumberbatch?? I just recently watched Sherlock again and I can't NOT see it now 😂
you get an A+!!
I'm just waiting for someone to guess the third since I already know the first two immediately.
it was ✨ bald Benedict Cumberbatch ✨
I guess I don't know as much about celebrities as I thought. I didn't know anyone until I read some of the comments.
That's okay, I also had a hard time remembering who some of those actors were 😅 - Gab
3 looks like bald Benedict cumberbatch? Lol
I had the same thought hahahaha
Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito), Samuel L. Jackson and I cannot tell who the last guy is...
Almost got it! #3 was a bald Benedict Cumberbatch :)
What a cute doggo! What is the dog’s name? If you haven’t came up with a name, the team should come up with it. I’m glad you enjoyed the eclipse with the team! I watched the total eclipse as well from a different location.
Chloé named her puppy Layton 🥰 Hope you enjoyed watching the total eclipse too!
1 HAS to be Giancarlo Esposito as Gus from breaking bad. 2, could it be Samuel L. Jackson? 3…. Can’t put my finger on it 😭
So close! #3 was a bald Benedict Cumberbatch :)
Samuel L Jackson is in the middle I think
That's correct 😊
Giancarlo Esposito. Great pictures!
Thank you!
GUS FRINGGG❤️
