Harmonic Minor π§ββοΈπΉ
The harmonic minor scale is a variation of the natural minor scale, used to create a more dramatic or exotic sound. It is formed by raising the 7th note of the natural minor scale by a half step.
For example, in this exercise we are in D minor:
The natural minor scale is: D, E, F, G, A, Bb, C, D
The harmonic minor scale is: D, E, F, G, A, Bb, C#, D
This raised 7th note creates a larger interval (1.5 steps) between the 6th and 7th notes, which gives the scale its unique, tension-filled sound often heard in classical, flamenco, and Middle Eastern music.
This is what the Harmonic Minor scale sounds like! πΉπ§ββοΈ (YouTube)

i love u, thanks !!!
Harmonic minor is a powerful scale used a lot in jazz standards. How Deep is the Ocean modulates between six or seven key changes of the harmonic minor. The Lydian Dominant Scale comes from the fifth degree of the harmonic minor which is called Hijaz in Arabic and Freygish (or Ahava Rabboh) in Klezmer Music. Mi Sheberach in Klezmer music is the 4th degree. The altered scale used in advanced jazz is the seventh degree of harmonic minor. I am just starting to learn about that. I dont get the altered scale yet but I bet you do.
How do you like the Astro Lab ?
If you are going to teach you have to set up things in a certain way for your students. The camera should be looking straight down at the keyboard and the instructor should be showing the scale in a very slow playing way. Show the notes ascending and the descending notes which are different. π

I can't keep up. I'm impressed, but I wish I could just see what you are doing at 1/2 speed. Otherwise, great ear training exercises! Thank you.
On settings in the video (that cog/wheel symbol) you can change the playback speed.
