Hey everyone!
Time for another progress report for Room Service: A Weekend in Crimson City!
== New Character | The Manager ==
A new character's design has been finalized! During this weekend trip, you'll be accompanied by the manager of the hotel. Always busy keeping up with the logistics and operations for the LeBlanc Hotel, she still manages to find time to serve guests with a warm smile!
I'll be revealing her design to patrons very soon so stay tuned for that!
== Progress | Release Window ==
I am still aiming to release a playable build by the end of this month! Things are getting a little... crunchy with that goal but so far, I'm still planning for a March release.
If an update does release this month, there will be several unfinished pieces. For example, the manager will likely not have animation in her dialogue.
It's also going to be a very short update. Mostly just the tutorial/introduction segment of the game.
Reminder, this first update will not have any NSFW scenes yet. All of the focus has been on completing the core elements; initial character designs, UI, backgrounds, etc. Fortunately, now that most of those tasks are complete, work on NSFW scenes will begin very soon!
The Alpha update will still release a little earlier for $5+ HC/RS Patrons to try out! However, if you're planning on pledging for this update, I would suggest waiting until I have confirmed a release date just in case of delays.
== Testing & Feedback ==
An important part of this update will be listening to feedback and seeing how the game performs. I'm curious about animated characters during dialogue sections. So far, I'm very happy with how Jen turned out! Having her breathing & blinking while dialogue is presented feels like quite a nice improvement from House Chores.
But, the game does require some loading time to render each expression. So there is a slight blip when her expression changes. I'll be curious to see if that feels distracting for players or if older hardware takes even longer to load these animations.
