2025 Wrap up & 2026 Goals

Aka the year of being in the art mines.

For those that are new it's that time of the year where I look back at the year and set some goals for next and hooooooooo boy this year was a lot. First full year of doing freelance fulltime, a lot new friendly faces around here (Hi btw :), and very turbulent social media changes. Not to mention the discord server now being half-open to the public (You should join btw if you haven't).

This year was honestly the year of commissions for me, it felt like so much of my time and energy went into comm work, and while I was satisfied with the amount and level of work I did I also felt bad at not being able to provide you guys with some original work or just stuff that I would put out on my own and that's something I want to change going into 26, making sure to give you guys plenty of goofy stuff and more exclusives. The total amount of commissions I did this year was roughly 392, or 485 if you include Frog Lord rewards so I definitely need to cut back even for myself.

One of the big "This is a dream" goals I had for 2025 was trying to get patreon to cover all my monthly expenses like bills, grocceries, etc, etc which was roughly 2K a month I needed... and surprisingly within the last few months we've actually been hitting that pretty consistently! Of course all of the attribution for that goes to you guys, as I wouldn't be anywhere without your gracious support and not a day goes by where I'm not thankful that I get to do what I love every day. You guys are the biggest reason I'm here and none of this would be possible without you and I'm looking forward to making more and more for y'all. I'm not setting a goal for how much more specifically I'd want patreon to make, but every dollar afterwards goes towards letting me just do the stuff I want to do full time and not having to take commissions but who am I kidding I'd probably still take some commissions, I like doing them too much.

Next, comics and honestly I feel a bit rough about comics. Something happened this year where a lot of my energy for long term comics just vanished and I think it's a cocktail of "needing to spend a lot of time on a comic page to make it the best it can be", and "just doing long term comics for about 5-7 years now". Before the Brainrot was a big send off to my comic work and I think it's some of the best work I've ever done. I do feel bad about making the promise of "If we hit 2K a month I'll work on two comics at a time" and not being able to follow through with that, and I am deeply sorry if that is what you were looking forward to. However, my love for short single page comics has not gone anywhere. Rita and that cute fox aren't going anywhere, I wanna do more stuff with the funny small croc and his big wife and overall I think I'm going to be shifting towards more single page goof comics then committing to something long term. I think there will be a day where there's a story that I want to tell in a long form comic but I think for now it's best I step away from them and focus on what I'm really enjoying. Not to mention there is one other thing that does stop me from making comics and that is the patreon only streams!

After Before the Brainrot I started streaming art in the discord as a bit of a test to see if I liked it and have something to fill the lack of comics and honestly I have really enjoyed it (Which isn't too much of a surprise I've always enjoyed streaming somewhat). Though sadly I know my streaming hours don't really line up with a lot of people (sorry I'm a morning worker). So I want to make an effort to try and be more available at not insaneo hours and even try to throw an extra day or two into the schedule. I need to think about the details about this more but you'll probably see some changes about it in the next couple months, with maybe even Big Frogs being able to join in. Can't wait to have a discord call with 20 people muted while I'm humming movie soundtracks.

Next; social media. Definitely a weird year for it.,twitter keeps changing it's algorithm though seemingly that's helped me get more traction in some ways, so I guess it's a positive in an absolute sea of negatives. I'll be frank, I think twitter is definitely on it's way out especially with the latest change of having the ai image editor on the picture itself. Though with the nature of this being my job and relying on commisions I do need to stay there for a bit longer. I will be trying to make a conscious effort to post more to Bluesky and FurAffinity while just needing to remember to post to the discord (Sorry I've been slacking there) but over the next couple years I will be trying to make Patreon and Discord a more stable ground to find me, and please if you have friends that also like my art and want to join the discord don't hesitate to slide them the link, it's public for a reason.

In terms of personal stuff I definitely want to try and do more Pin-ups, fully rendered background pieces, and maybe even dip my fingers into painting styles so be on the look out for those.

That's all I can think about for now, I'll look forward to giving you guys updates in the near future but I hope you all have a happy new year and here's to a more art filled 2026! ^^

As long as you're happy and fulfilled creatively that's all that matters regarding the comics/goofy one-offs.
