Downloads, installation, requirements

Requirements

ComeCloser may look like a fun and simple game, yet it uses cutting edge technologies. With more than 80 physic muscles driving the bodies, realistic simulations of clothes and hair and a high definition VR rendering, the game requires a strong hardware to run smoothly.

Standalone:

  • any Meta Quest headset.

PCVR:

  • SteamVR and Windows 7/10 64bits,

  • HTC Vive/Pro/Cosmos,

  • Valve Index,

  • Oculus Rift/S, Quest/Quest 2,

  • All Windows Mixed Reality headsets,

  • Minimum: i5, NVidia GTX1080 or AMD RX5700,

  • Recommended: i7, NVidia RTX2070 or AMD RX5700XT.

To play with a Meta Quest headset via a PC, you can either use the Link connexion or VirtualDesktop with WiFi.

The game requires DirectX11 and won't run with older graphic cards such as AMD RX580 or NVidia RTX980.

Download links

Serious players and First-class investors can also access the latest "beta" build.

Installation on PC

ComeCloser is shipped as a portable software and you won't need to install anything on your computer. Instead, just extract the game from its zip file and launch ComeCloser.exe.

You must extract the zip file completely, and not launch the game from inside the zip file. To extract the zip file, you can download any zip software like 7-zip.org. If you have troubles unzipping the file, you can find plenty of tutorial online or contact us via Patreon messaging.

You should not place the game in a folder that is managed by the system, such as ProgramFiles or Windows folders. Any other folder is ok.

Installation on Quest

Oculus policy does not allow explicit content and we can't publish ComeCloser on the Oculus Store. That said, installing apps that are not accepted by Oculus Store is a pretty basic thing. It's called "side loading" and many simple tools can help with that. This one-time procedure requires a PC or an android device.

The idea is to register as a developer on Oculus website to enable the developer mode on your Quest and access its file system. It's simple, fast and safe.

Here is the procedure to install ComeCloser on a Quest using SideQuest and a PC:

  • download ComeCloser Quest using the links above (it is a standard android APK file),

  • download & install SideQuest, on your PC or android device.

  • follow their instructions to enable developer mode on your Quest,

  • launch SideQuest,

  • click on "install APK file from your computer" and locate the ComeCloser.APK file you have downloaded.

To side load ComeCloser APK with an Android device (without a PC), you can use the app Bugjaeger.

There are plenty of good tutorials out there if you need more detailed instructions.

That's it! Now you can put your headset on. ComeCloser is in the "unknown sources" application category.

Note: You can also side load a file manager app on your Quest once and for all. Such an app will allow you to download and install APK files directly from your Quest.

Currently, we don't know any way of side loading an APK from an iOS device.

Did you ever get this fixed? I was having the same issue

I have no idea how to download from android to quest 2. But I want this game.

C
ComeCloser · September 16, 2024

To side load the apk file on your Quest from an Android device, you can use the application Bugjaeger. Lots of tutorials on youtube. I think SideQuest for Android now allows it too but not sure about that.

I mean its only gonna lagging when i connect it with the quest when i play it on pc i dont have leggs. My Gpu is rtx3070ti

C
ComeCloser · May 14, 2024

RTX 3070ti should run the game at a solid 50fps at least in VR with a Quest 3. My best guess is that you have a issue with your connexion or a super sampling forcing a larger resolution

C
ChrisGG · May 13, 2024

hey, is it possible to play on quest 3? or only 1 and 2

C
ComeCloser · May 13, 2024

ComeCloser is compatible with the Quest 3

C
CK · October 22, 2023

Any chance of some fabrics on Quest 3?

C
ComeCloser · October 23, 2023

We have not tested it yet but I doubt it honestly.

how do i bind my virual penis to my controller on quest 2? i see posts about hip physics and stuff like that but how do i bind it? i press the pause button and get no virtual menu so idk what to do

C
ComeCloser · June 9, 2023

You first need to call your holo menu by holding the A/X button for one second. Then you can grab one of the penis tools and pull it in the correct position. More info in the introduction scene and in this post : https://trello.com/c/W9NwDpiA/29-vr-how-to-control-your-virtual-pelvis

C
CpatainDaddy · April 15, 2023

is there an option for an automatic hip movement? And how can you continue the story of a Charakter? Is there any other Chapter then Chapter 1? Also, is there an option to make the charakter cum or something? Sorry, I am completly new and a little bit lost about what you can do in this game

C
ComeCloser · April 15, 2023

The characters have animations of their own, but there is no animation for your own hips. You can use the pulsator, the white and pink toy you can find in all the scenes, which is mechanized. There is only a short story for Lalago and Erica for the moment. Did you like these stories and would you like to have more? There is no climax system for the characters or for the players for the moment, but it is in the todo list.

So, issue i have gotten the game to run one time on my Oculus 2. My pc is definitely up to snuff. The headset and steam vr recognize the game attempting to play, but fail to display anything. The screen just gets stuck on a grid visual saying "up next ComeCloser"

C
ComeCloser · January 17, 2023

If the game started once, then it eliminate a lot of possible causes. I don't know this issue and I suspect it has something to do with your VR setup not being ready. You can find some information on this post https://trello.com/c/mKDhr6Ns/42-pc-i-have-a-vr-setup-but-the-game-start-in-desktop-or-the-camera-is-not-moving I suggest you restart everything and set your VR ready before you launch the game, instead of letting the game launch SteamVR itself. It may also help to get the latest GPU drivers and SteamVR update

j
jacexd · August 29, 2022

I play with Oculust Quest 2 too, I downloaded the demo onto my computer and added the .exe file to my steam library. Then start SteamVR and choose the application from there. No problems

Donald Duck · March 23, 2022

Will you add clothes to the quest version one day ? It seems to add a lot of charm to the game !

C
ComeCloser · March 23, 2022

The cloth simulation has a major cost in term of performances and the Quest 1 and 2 don't have the power to handle it properly unfortunately. That being said, we are still working on it and we will communicate soon on the subject.

Wow. So many steps not listed.. Need to install bujaeger app, need to open developer options ON YOUR PHONE as well as in the the Oculus app. Many more crazy steps. This video will help https://youtu.be/3ZcWejuPhRY

e
erq · November 9, 2021

How do you change/rotate the settings on the toys? Is there a faq that explains it?

C
ComeCloser · November 9, 2021

The pulsator rings need to be rotated by using the trigger. This should be the same motion as grabbing them between your thumb and index.

Soriel · November 9, 2021

I don't own an android nor a pc, does this work on Mac?

C
ComeCloser · November 9, 2021

ComeCloser is not tested on Mac so I can't really say. Some players have reported they have succeeded in running the game on Mac but I don't think it will work out of the box.

Hey I just tried using sidequest to install the game onto my quest 2 but when I install it from my computer files it “extracts the game” and then stops, nothing is on my headset, anyway to fix?

C
ComeCloser · September 11, 2021

Did you follow the instruction from SideQuest? if so, your game should now be accessible through the list of applications in the Quest main menu, but please note that it will be hidden in the category "unknown source", which you can access using the category drop down list.

Hiya, just bought this, but the game doesn't work. Whenever I try to open up a scene, it just crashes. Here's my PC specs: Gigabyte RX 5700 XT, 16 GB RAM, Ryzen 5 3600X. Any help?

C
ComeCloser · August 13, 2021

Hello, your graphic card might have a hard time with the cloth simulation. Please go in the game preferences (the spinning gears in the menu) and try to set cloth physics to "none"

o
opalezra · July 11, 2021

How do I get this into SideQuest though? That's the part I can't figure out.

l
loopie · June 14, 2021

I am confused. I got it to work wirelessly on my quest but i have been trying to do it linked so i can have access to more things, but a screen keeps popping up everytime I open it. Its just the sky and white pillars? can someone help

C
ComeCloser · June 14, 2021

This mean you SteamVR is not starting correctly with the game. Please take a look at the troubleshooting post here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/50938340

D
Daniel Zamora · May 18, 2021

Ok so i bought the quest 2 but im having a bit of trouble understanding how to download it can you please explain to me how to download it without having a pc or laptop or is that not possible

C
ComeCloser · May 18, 2021

It is explained at the bottom of this post: https://www.patreon.com/posts/44887154. You can use other software than SideQuest, the procedure will be mostly the same. SideQuest is available on PC and android but not on iOS. As far as we know, there is no way currently to side load an application using an iPhone or the Quest itself only. So basically you will need either a PC or an android device.

james gonzalez · January 26, 2021

Doesnt launch. Displays unity and crashes.

C
ComeCloser · January 26, 2021

Sorry for the inconvenience. Can you share some details about your hardware?

g
geniusthefourth · December 23, 2020

Alright, then unfortunately I would like to request a refund of my pledge

C
ComeCloser · December 23, 2020

It's done! We hope to have you back soon ^^ Note that the refund can take some days to process.

g
geniusthefourth · December 23, 2020

If I can run Half-Life Alyx perfectly fine shouldn’t I also be able to run this? I haven’t had hardware issues with any VR title I’ve tried to run so far.

C
ComeCloser · December 23, 2020

There are two reasons for that: The game is in its early stage of development, not yet perfectly optimized and there are no graphic options to lower the quality. The game features cutting edge technologies for hair, cloth and body simulations that are expensive to compute, as stated in this post.

g
geniusthefourth · December 23, 2020

The demo straight up doesn't work. I installed it and every time I try to launch it I'll see a brick wall for a few seconds and then it will crash. I have an HTC Vive, and my rig has a Ryzen 5, an RX 580, and 16 gigs of RAM

C
ComeCloser · December 23, 2020

I'm sorry to hear that. Our best guess is that the hardware is just below the requirement. Hopefully, future versions will be more inclusive and you will be able to shutdown some effects to make it run on older hardware. In the meantime, do you want a refund of your pledge?

t
thinxx · December 22, 2020

It‘s a Saphire RX5700xt card on a AMD Ryzen 5 with 16gigs of RAM. I get a crash warning from Radeon so I assume it’s something related to the GPU. I have a Quest2. I don’t know how to run it without relive. How do others run it on the Quest?

C
ComeCloser · December 22, 2020

Quests are not yet supported but ReLive was worth the shot. ComeCloser demo has been tested on a AMD GPU and CPU without issue (not specifically on RX5700xt), so I suppose it's something with ReLive. We will give it a try whenever we get our hand on a Quest 2 (part of our first patreon goal!)

t
thinxx · December 22, 2020

Something doesn't really work when I try to run it via AMD Relive. SteamVR starts but something crashes and the picture basically is static.

C
ComeCloser · December 22, 2020

Thanks for the report. We will look into it for a future version. Can you tell us more about your hardware? Graphic, card, CPU, RAM and headset? Does the game run smoothly outside of ReLive?
