Patreon Exclusive Webinar: Jewellery Sizing Theory + Disinfection & Instrument Pre-Processing. Sunday July 27 2025.
On Sunday July 27th 2025 at 2:00 EST US time Ryan and Lola will be offering an exclusive webinar, included to active subscribers at www.patreon.com/ryanpba on the $15 arch-mage (video) tier. You can be a new or existing subscriber to attend, an rsvp form will go live to subscribers one week prior.
Part 1: In "Size Matters: presented by Lola Slider" we'll be discussing matters of size (pun intended) and the fundamentals of what goes in to the art/science of sizing for initial piercings. This is a must take class for piercers that struggle with this concept in a jewellery market place where there has never been more options, variety or client preferences. This class will be beneficial to apprentices, newer piercers and more experienced piercers who have recently expanded into new styles and designs they may not be experienced with. The aim of this class is to help you feel more confident in matters of size for initial jewellery selection and help encourage you to think critically about making those determinations for yourself without following a potentially outdated template.
Part 2: "Disinfection & Instrument Pre-Processing for Piercers: presented by Ryan Ouellette". We will discuss several key issues related use of disinfectants in a body piercing space. Pathogens, contact times, types of application, and more. We will also discuss the issue of "biofilm" in relation to piercing tools meant to be re-processed. The use of enzymatic products, the transportation of used and contaminated items, and others issues related to sterilization will be addressed.
