Goods news for new U.S. Patreon subscribers, no more hidden Apple fees on iOS

From Patreon:

"Thanks to a recent U.S. court ruling, Apple must now allow apps to offer U.S. based users checkout options outside of Apple's in-app purchase system (which includes the 30% Apple fee)—something that was previously prohibited under Apple's App Store requirements.

This means real improvements for you:

• Patreon's checkout option—which avoids Apple's 30% fee—is now the default checkout option for U.S. based fans making membership purchases in the iOS app.

• U.S. based fans now see the price you set without Apple's fee added in, just like they would on web or Android.

• New sign-ups on Apple devices just need to use the latest version of the app to avoid hidden iOS fees."
