The wait is finally over! After several months of development, Reforma Baja Beta 5 is now available for ATS 1.61! 🚛

This is one of the biggest updates we have ever made for the Baja project and represents a major milestone in our goal of recreating the Baja California Peninsula, finally extending the project all the way down to La Paz, Baja California Sur.

¡La espera terminó! Después de varios meses de desarrollo, Reforma Baja Beta 5 ya está disponible para ATS 1.61. 🚛

Esta es una de las actualizaciones más grandes que hemos realizado para el proyecto Baja y representa un paso muy importante en nuestro objetivo de recrear la Península de Baja California, llevando finalmente el proyecto hasta La Paz, Baja California Sur.

🛣️ DRIVE THROUGH BAJA CALIFORNIA ALL THE WAY TO LA PAZ!

With Baja Beta 5, you can continue your journey south and discover new roads, towns, and landscapes throughout Baja California Sur.

This update introduces new areas and content across the peninsula, continuing the work previously completed around Guerrero Negro and Punta Abreojos, and now expanding the experience farther south into new regions of the state.

Some of the new locations and areas you can discover include:

🌵 Ciudad Insurgentes
🏜️ New communities and rural areas
🛣️ New sections of Federal Highway 1
🌴 Oases, deserts, mountains, and coastal landscapes throughout Baja California Sur

Con Baja Beta 5 podrás continuar tu viaje hacia el sur y descubrir nuevas carreteras, pueblos y paisajes de Baja California Sur.

Esta actualización incluye nuevas áreas y contenido a lo largo de la península, continuando el trabajo realizado anteriormente en lugares como Guerrero Negro y Punta Abreojos, y extendiendo ahora la experiencia hacia nuevas regiones del estado.

🌊 NEW VISUAL IMPROVEMENTS WITH ATS 1.61

Baja Beta 5 also takes advantage of some of the new features introduced with ATS 1.61, including the new transparent water system, which has been used in several areas to create more natural and realistic-looking coastlines and bodies of water.

Many additional improvements have also been made to:

• Vegetation and terrain painting
• Elevations and landscapes
• Models and objects
• Roads and driving surfaces
• Urban and rural areas
• Optimization and performance
• Towns and community environments
• Visual details throughout the routes

Baja Beta 5 también aprovecha algunas de las nuevas características disponibles con ATS 1.61, incluyendo el nuevo sistema de agua transparente, utilizado en diferentes zonas para conseguir costas y cuerpos de agua con una apariencia mucho más natural y realista.

Se han realizado además numerosas mejoras en:

🚗 PREPARING FOR ROAD TRIP

This version also introduces several adjustments in preparation for future compatibility with the Road Trip DLC.

Roads and driving surfaces have been reviewed to improve compatibility with lower-clearance vehicles, while several gas stations, hotels, and rest areas have been adapted for future use with cars.

Road Trip integration and compatibility will continue to improve as we have more opportunities to work with and study the new features introduced by SCS.

🚗 PREPARÁNDONOS PARA ROAD TRIP

Esta versión también incorpora diferentes ajustes pensando en la futura compatibilidad con el DLC Road Trip.

Se han revisado carreteras y superficies para mejorar la circulación de vehículos de menor altura, además de adaptar diferentes gasolineras, hoteles y áreas de descanso para su futura utilización con automóviles.

La integración y compatibilidad con Road Trip continuará mejorando conforme podamos trabajar y estudiar más profundamente las nuevas características introducidas por SCS.

🗺️ A PROJECT INSPIRED BY THE REAL BAJA

An important part of this project has been trying to capture what it actually feels like to travel across the Baja California Peninsula.

In September 2025, I had the opportunity to personally travel across the peninsula, gathering references and experiencing many of its roads, landscapes, communities, and locations firsthand. Many of those experiences later became important references and inspiration for this project.

From its vast desert landscapes to mountains, oases, and incredible ocean views, Baja Beta 5 aims to bring some of that experience into American Truck Simulator.

🗺️ UN PROYECTO BASADO EN LA BAJA REAL

Una parte muy importante de este proyecto ha sido intentar capturar la sensación de viajar realmente por la Península de Baja California.

Durante septiembre de 2025 tuve la oportunidad de recorrer personalmente la península, recopilando referencias y conociendo de primera mano muchas de las carreteras, paisajes, comunidades y lugares que posteriormente servirían como inspiración para este proyecto.

Desde las enormes extensiones desérticas hasta las montañas, oasis y vistas hacia el océano, Baja Beta 5 busca trasladar parte de esa experiencia a American Truck Simulator.
