Experiments with Rive—Stocking Anarchy (Panty & Stocking) Expansion Sequence [Animated Gif]
Finders keepers...mothers weepers? Something like that...
As promised, here is an expansion sequence for Stocking Anarchy. As you can see, I tried animating as many aspects of the scene as I could, to get to grips with the software but also to see how much it could handle. It turns out...not that much...
The expansion sequence was the longest and most complex animation here, and the software seemed to handle it well. However, when it came to exporting the expansion, every file it gave me was empty. Too many keyframes! Lesson learned. I'll have to focus on multiple angles I stitch together rather than trying to do everything in one sequence.
Hopefully a future update will allow exports at a higher quality than 720p, but for now, this is the best I can output. Rive is still very fun to use, so I look forward to making more animations in it! And I can also revisit this in the future if Rive gets more power under the hood.
That's enough outta me. Time to get to work on the YCEH animation. TTFN!

I think you've managed to capture the fast-paced animation style of the Panty & Stocking series without making it seem janky, which is pretty impressive. I'm sure 30 fps will be fine for other animations that have more normal pacing, and honestly I feel like unless you're playing a game like Apex or whatever, having 60fps or above isn't really noticeable a difference from 30fps, but maybe I need to get my eyes checked.
Thanks, I tried to take advantage of Rive and make it more Trigger-esque, it's not perfect but that I can do that now is nice. Originally, I was going to post these at 60fps (you can see the jiggling even clearer) but I don't think Rive can handle that kind of export just yet lol
I'm glad that Stocking's shirt broke!
There would have been a riot if it hadn't
Looks excellent it seems like the new software can display the animations at a proper 30 FPS or 60 FPS or whatever this gif would be.
These gifs are 30fps. It can do 60fps but the animations looks a bit uncanny valley at that speed imo. Plus, considering it barely exports gifs at 30, 60fps will be difficult to do unless the software gets an update or two
