Gacha Cummy 1.12 The Matters of Time

Hello and welcome to this week's Gacha Cummy Progress Report… As much as it pains us to say it, we weren't able to finish the update in time. The reason for this delay comes down to a few different factors, but most importantly time.

The previous update brought a lot of changes to the game... changes that we didn't realize would introduce quite so many bugs! As you might have noticed during the release, many of them were game-breaking, leading to various softlocks and crashes that we likely wouldn't have discovered without your help.

Dealing with those bugs ended up taking a lot of time. In fact, approximately two entire weeks of development were spent primarily on fixing technical issues from the previous update. While those fixes certainly helped, they unfortunately didn't resolve every issue still affecting the game.

However, the buggy release wasn't the only problem we've been dealing with. There's another issue that's been plaguing us since the earliest versions of the game... Feature Creep and Ambition.

To give you some perspective, we wanted Kafka to be special from the very beginning. We wanted her to stand apart from your other allies and bring something truly unique to the game. We came up with a number of different ideas for how to achieve that, but the most prominent early concept was a special scene where you'd teach the Demon Lord's Envoy not to mess with the Patron of the Goddess. We'll leave what exactly that means to your imagination- From there, one idea led to another, eventually growing into the Celestial Contract, making Kafka by far the most customizable ally in the roster. The scope expanded gradually, one feature at a time, and we truly believe it has made Kafka one of the most interesting Guests you'll encounter in the game. Unfortunately, that expansion also came at the cost of precious development time. 

Still, we want to apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience. To give you a little something to look forward to, we're also sharing one of the CGs you can expect to see in the upcoming update: an exclusive scene where Snow White and Red Hood finally reunite under a single banner!

Whether or not Snow White is particularly happy about this reunion remains to be seen…

But we hope you're excited to experience it once the update finally drops next week!
