Monthly releases with MyMiniFactory!

Villains and Archvillains!

As you all know, we collaborated with MyMiniFactory in the past few months to bring you loyalty rewards to your MyMiniFactory libraries!

We are pleased to announce that we are working with  MyMiniFactory  again to be able to bring you all of the monthly releases on your  MyMiniFactory library so you can download at any time without having to rush at the end of the month!

This also means that downloading will be easier for you since you can avoid the known problems associated with Sync and Google drive (slow speed, missing files, pages not loading etc).

Furthermore this is saving you all from multiple Gigabytes of storage on your computer, as it will all be stored within your MyMiniFactory library!

We hope to be able to implement this feature by the end of this month and we also hope to start sending out the monthly releases of the past months to patrons who backed us!

This does not mean we are getting rid of Sync or Google Drive, you will be still able to download through those as you have been in the past since the MMF (MyMiniFactory) library for each user will not be updated instantly upon joining but in a period of 48h, at least for now.

This is a new way of getting files to you and we hope it will work smoothly for all of our patrons, however, please note that this method will be tested and most likely wont be perfect to begin with. Either way, we hope that user experience will be improved!

More details will come in the coming weeks!

Cheers,

The Archvillain Team

P.s. Frostburn Horrors drops tomorrow!

Awesome. This is a big deal and it's appreciated. Thanks!

Other than being convenient I think this also helps with piracy. Same as music did in the past, convenience in the end wins. Having to download and locally manage files (which arent small mind you) is a pain. Having a proper library of what you have, and the ability to grab what you need for print and leave the rest is exactly whats lacking right now.

Thank you so much! I've been hoping for this feature for several months, and you guys are my first patreon to start implementing it.

So So excited about this. Best feature I have seen in a Patreon in a while. Organized accessible and always available.

You guys really are a great patreon. You're continually making improvements on your service and this is a huge one. Keep up the good work! Thank you!

Great news! Any word on MMF downloads being organized on download opposed to a heap of files in 1 folder?

A
Archvillain Games · September 2, 2020

We have taken down all the bundles and working on uploading new zip files up.

This is great!

So happy to see this idea spreading across the STL patreons. Much better than having to download these at the end of every month and manage the files locally. That was becoming a pain. Next step -- make sure the files are easily downloadable from MMF as 1-3 archives per month at most. I don't want to have to download objects individually.

They'll be ready right there waiting for me when I'm ready to print them. No more wasting storage space either. And, photos for everything...

N
Nate · September 2, 2020

That's smart. Other Patreon pages take note. I get the models I supported on Patreon without spending hours sifting through files and updates for files. AND, I can DL the most accurate files at any time. What a savings in time. Sincerely, thank you

I've noticed several patreons doing this recently, and it's great news. I recently bought a 2tb external hard drive to store my models because I'm already up to 800 gigs just from loot and patrons, and during the transfer process I discovered that several folders were corrupt (including royal guard pose 3 from a previous archvillian release). Not only will the storage on mmf give me a secure place to store these releases, but it also helps prevent me from having to waste your (and other patreons) time if I discover one of my folders has been corrupted. It also means no more mad rush at the end of the month to grab a release before its gone. I'll probably still continue to download monthly releases to my external, just because it allows me to print without having to wait for a download, allows me to search stls for specific things (hedges, fences, hay bale, skeleton, etc) and let's me have options immediately available for digital kitbashing.. but having the online storage is a huge stress reliever, since I no longer need to worry about losing my files for good.

fantastic! solved so many concerns with storage space and assurance files are safe at MMF

D
Dane D. Whalen · September 2, 2020

This is fantastic. Was having a heckuva time with the other links, where some files wouldn't always download within the zipped folder. Had to sometimes download everything individually

N
Nathan Cooper · September 2, 2020

Thanks! This is awesome. The storage space was the biggest thing for me.

A

I’m so happy to see this! It’s the biggest hassle downloading and organizing the files, and having everything in one library will be awesome!

J
Josh Hilbert · September 2, 2020

Plus the files are huge so storage has become a slight hassle. A repository would be awesome.
