If you vote in this poll, it would mean a lot if you commented and explained why! I'm trying to take in as much information as possible! I appreciate you all. Also keep your eyes peeled for the next Tv show poll dropping later today!

Either way should be fine, but narratively I’d always argue for Chronological for Clone Wars. The guide that people have linked a lot was easy to follow when I watched it through with Blind Wave for the first time, and I think it will make it easier to edit multiple episodes into videos covering arcs.
Just watch it in release order and enjoy the ride. It will be entertaining and you'll be experiencing the series the way viewers did when it was originally released.
Doesn't seem to be a huge difference, but I am no expert. Seems like either way would be fine. https://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-the-clone-wars-chronological-episodeorder
I would say Chronological, with one exception; Start with the Clone Wars movie (it would be the third thing in chronological). That was always the intended introduction to this world and it works best that way.
"... the Clone Wars movie is where you should start. Ahsoka and the clone troopers are the key throughline of the series, and the film introduces these elements decently well. Watching chronologically, the episodes Cat and Mouse and Hidden Enemy are set before the film and, while I think they are both good episodes, do not act as a particularly strong introduction to the series for newcomers. There’s no Ahsoka and it’s weird to have the very first clone story involve a clone traitor. That’s subverting the role of the clones before introducing the base characterization; it doesn’t really work. Hidden Enemy was the sixteenth episode of the show aired and it was intentionally left so late because the creators felt introducing a clone turncoat any earlier would be detrimental. Chronologically, it’s now the second episode."
This article makes a case for release order. Thoughts? "Why I’ve changed my mind and recommend NOT watching Star Wars: The Clone Wars in chronological order." https://www.outoflives.net/2025/11/18/the-cons-of-watching-star-wars-the-clone-wars-chronologically/ "The release order of the episodes has intention behind it. ... Watching chronologically might help understand the sequence of events but the flow of the series, the evolution of it, is messed up.... Chronological order shouldn’t be how someone is introduced to The Clone Wars. Nor should it be the go-to option for regular rewatches. It’s perfect for a second watch through, to see the connections and track the fates of characters more easily, as an experiment. But it’s not the ideal way to watch the show. .... The cons outweigh the pros."
"Quite simply, the episodes designed to be prequels are best viewed as a prequel. Clone Cadets is a prime example. Chronologically it comes very early but it’s best viewed after Rookies and immediately before Arc Troopers, which is how it originally aired. The contrast between Clone Cadets and Arc Troopers is the entire point, seeing where they’ve come from and where those characters are now. The episodes aired as a two-part premiere of the third season while chronologically they are separated by 45 episodes!"
I am normally a release order fanatic. In fact, when I see reactors who watch the live action in chronological order, I don't even bother watching. This is one of the rare cases where chronological order is better.
Please watch Clone Wars in CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER from beginning to end so that you get the complete story of Obi Wan, Anakin's relationship and the influence the war had on the Republic, Seperatists and fall of the Jedi. You will also need it for context when you watch Star Wars Rebels & the Ahsoka series. If you try to jump all over the series, you will only get confused.
Release order. Just like the first six movies, that's the way the story was written and the way almost all of us watched it. Sure, there are a couple moments of "Oh wait, this takes place before that other story", but that happens so few times that it's much simpler to just watch in release order. For most shows and move sequels, I feel like anything other than release order is fine for a re-watch but not the way the story is meant to be viewed the first time you experience it.
if it be me watching i would watch in release order dont go jumping around it will just confuse you and some of us
Chronological, less spoilers
Chronological order. - the jumbled release order was never set-up as a story-telling tool. It was a gimmick to mimmick the WW2 news reels people saw in the cinemas. - After season 3 they understood it wasn't a good thing and pretty much stopped and just released according to story arcs. - Star Wars (Disney) themselves recommend you watch chronologically. - It's a much smoother watch to see the arcs bundled together then the whole criss cross thing.
Tee is more than capable of following a meandering production.
I've only watched the show in it's entirety once and that was in release order. Strangely enough my pea brain was able to recognise, understand and process when I watched an episode that seemed to be out of sync with the story timeline as I had been watching it unfold. I guess some people don't have faith that T. will be able to do the same... And why do some people seem to be losing their shit over this? Seriously, is it that important to you? Since the reactions will be episodic can't you just watch them in your special order once they have been posted and let Teegan just watch the show without faffing around with your special episode order?
Fair enough, just have her scramble her memory then recalling episodes that were done seasons ago, and we pick them up once more, and have Teegan try to remember what happened 40 episodes previous. I've been subbed to a reactor who did release order, she was visibly confused several times throughout the watch.

heyy the chronological order would be easier for u to follow and i have done both orders and the release order is a bit all over the place with the story early on
One thing's for sure... anyone willing to take on the whole Clone Wars is alright in my book. I'll be looking forward to this.
Three examples of why release order is a poor way to watch the show - against the creators intentions : Ending episode of season 1 has a story introducing a new character. It then has episodes that follow on from that in chrono order; but instead with release order, we jump to season 2, have that character back - but with a new story! In chrono order, that season ends on a trilogy arc. Midway through season 2, we are back to where we were located in the very first few episodes - why, when its the very first episode chronologically. Thirdly a clone arc is developed much more naturally in chrono order. In release order rookies are now veteran soldiers IN THE VERY NEXT EPISODE; and the emotion of that whole episode is lost doing it in release order Its a mess that doesn't really settle down throughout the whole show, as even into season 7 there is one arc thats out of place. The show will just hit Teegan all the better in chrono order. It will still be fun and watchable in release, but much of the drama is lost by all this switching around and having stories and arcs out of sync.
Chrono is the only way to go. Do or do not, there is no middle ground. ;)
Release order - I have not seen the program and will be watching for the first time along with you. I'd like to watch it in the way it was originally aired.
Ditto
I've mentioned this before, but I'll repeat it for maximum exposure...You should probably upload the episodes in arc batches (two or three 20min episodes at a time, depending on the arc). It will flow better and keep the viewing hours down a little. Other creators that I follow do this with Anime and it makes a lot of sense to watch more than one 20 min episode at a time.
Maybe it’s just me but I find literally zero reason to watch it in release order. Like, release order is objectively a worse experience, no?
Just do release order. It'll be pretty weird that your post titles will seem to be out of order when you post them. It's not hard to follow the story either way. Chronological order is a hassle. Anyone voting for it is some kind of weird wannabe purist.
Oh ok then so you don't want Teegan to experience the story as it was meant to be told, and instead have her jump around all over the place piecemeal for the entire show...
Here is a site that shows you the arcs in chronological order. https://starwarsreport.com/2018/10/03/the-clone-wars-viewing-guide-how-to-watch-the-series-chronologically-arc-by-arc/
I prefer chronological order so you can follow the story arcs easier and it doesn’t feel as disjointed.
Personally I prefer chronological order, because the first 3 seasons do jump around a lot in the timeline and you get a more consise idea of the timeline for the beginning of the Clone Wars and certain characters story arcs will have more weight in this order. The shorter 2D Animated Clone Wars series, also known as the Clone Wars Microseries, and the book Brotherhood written by Mike Chen also delve more into the beginning of the Clone Wars shortly after the Battle of Geonosis in this era if you're interested.
Can't wait. While some episodes are hit or miss, Clone Wars is some of the best Star Wars content out there.
Especially considering you have been jumping around with movies and tv shows it is better to watch chronologically just so it is easier to keep timelines in order in your head. I first watched star wars last year and did a completionist run and I watched chronologically and it just felt right. I would have honestly found it very confusing watching release order because they never tell you if the episode is forward or backward on the timeline then where you were before. Edit: I did watch movies in release order but Clone Wars chronological is just objectively better for a first time watch. Anyone who says the release order timeline is easy to follow is out of touch and only thinks that because they live and breathe star wars but especially for reactors that's just not realistic.
I've tried to watch Clone Wars so many times, but could never get through it in release order because it jumps around in the timeline so much.
I watched it in release order, but have seen other reactors do it in chronological order. I think chronological order is better. There is one arc early on about the clones that I love. It helps get attached to them and follow their stories throughout the series.
I like release order. Just like how we tell people to watch the OT then the prequels.
I don't know if it was the best, but Order 66 was certainly the most influential.
I think ive mentioned this before but will again I dont really care which order you decide. I chose release order simply because thats how I watched the show when it was on Cartoon Network.
The real trick is only watching the 12 best episodes :P
I know for myself, and a few of my friends, there were multiple attempts at getting into the series, but it was too disjointed and there was no cohesive narrative to hook me in until I found the chronological order.
I always prefer release order. That’s the order that everyone else watched it in Plus, little Easter eggs that are sprinkled along the way may go right by you because you haven’t seen something that was released first, but later in the chronological timeline
The vast majority of the chronological order is in release order anyway. All of the jumping around happens in the first two or three seasons when the show was still finding its fleet. It has no impact old character development at all. It just streamlines the experience.
I really don't even know how someone could debate chronological order. Release order makes no sense at all. For example you have S1E1, then S3E3 ties directly before S1E1, and it explain why plot in S1E1 was the way it was. This is happening very often in release order case. You get plot preparation episodes for invasions and other things after they actually happened. You already seen what happened in some episode of S1 and in random S3 episode it is explained why. Chronological order is the way! 🫶🫶
Its just some being obtuse about it. It was only done that way in release order, as they were working on different episodes at different times, whilst building an animation engine and all the assets that come with it.
Chronological order. Did you watch the movies jumping around. Start with episode 2 then watch 7 then 4 then 6 then 9 then Rogue One etc. This show as arcs 2-4 show arcs why break them up. Just like Andor had 3 show arcs in season 1. Either way I'm glad you're taking the plunge Star Wars makes a lot more sense after watching this program. Take care
The show does a little bouncing around in the first few seasons. Having watched the show several times in both orders, i'd say that at the end of the day it dosen't really matter. It's more importent to learn and remember some of the new characters in the show because not every character is in every episode, so if you remember some of the new character in the show like Jedi, Clones and Bad guys, the story and plot lines will naturally fall in to place as you watch.
Either or is fine
Doing Chronological just makes the story of The Clone Wars flow better Yes you have to hop around But after a few seasons it will become more chronological on its own
Star Wars website has a viewing order and direct links for Disney+ to make it easy. https://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-the-clone-wars-chronological-episodeorder/
Chronological order is the only way, as show creators said themselves. In later seasons some episodes were created to fill the gaps of previous episodes arcs. Chronological order just goes with storyline of Clone Wars.
I say do the release order. Chronological is good for a re-watch, but the first time you watch a show it should be how it was meant to be watched, which is the release order.
Not sure if you were planning to already or not but be sure to watch the OG Clone Wars from Cartoon Network. The main show is of course good but to me nothing beats Captain Fordo and his ARC trooper Chads.
As with all things Star Wars, release order is the only way that makes any sense.
So I find chronological way easier to follow. That being said, it’s only the first 3 seasons that jump around and then they are pretty much linear from there onwards. 90% of reactors go with chronological and starwars themselves recommend chronological. Some of the episodes are almost a full season apart for a story line/arc in release order. Release order was fine when you weren’t trying to get the details but yeah, chronological just makes so much more sense.
Both ways are valid, i personally always go towards chronological because it just makes more sense to me and find it easier to get a sense of where during the war we are. If i recall the show only jumps around during the first few seasons and then settles into a more chronological order anyway
Let's just throw out narrative build, art direction maturation, musical scoring and themes and building and evolving on one another, character depiction and presentation being shown in the creative direction its supposed, reduce emotional weight of moments music and deaths because you arent seeing them presented in the way they were shown, and the tonal and thematic arc of the show following its key character of Ahosoka from an adventure show for children to the dark grim of war... All because people dont think you are smart enough to watch a non linear narrative. Please just do release order
Agree 💯
Release order is fine. You’d have to be a real simpleton to not be able to follow it that way. It’s not confusing like season one of the Witcher, or like in Memento that was FULL of flashbacks.
I feel like Chronological would be more interesting as you'd see a better overarching story. You'd see characters grow and develop organically. I might be a bit biased those as I watched in release order and I want to see it the other way now.
I watched the show by release order & did a rewatch the same way. I have not try the chrome order. I 'm down for this rewatch either way.
I watched in release order but of course that was when it came out lol. So far the channels I've seen have done chronological order this was the link they used. https://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-the-clone-wars-chronological-episodeorder/
sure chronological takes more effort or whatever, but it's worth the jumping around for the more straight forward narrative over time. Personally I think Disney should put up a playlist or something that lest you watch it in chronological order.
Almost like its not meant to be watched that way
