House Party on Steam Greenlight

Hey guys,

I've just put House Party on Steam Greenlight, which is a user-based community that vote on whether or not they'd like to see the game available on Steam. If the game gets enough votes, Steam will allow me to make House Party available through it.

I still plan to keep House Party free on Steam, however, on Steam I would be able to hit a much wider audience to grow the player community, which means more time for me to work on the game, and a larger player base with more custom stories.

If those of you with Steam accounts (or willing to make one) wouldn't mind helping me out and taking a minute to vote that you'd like to see House Party released on Steam, and/or leave a positive comment it would help me and the future of the game out a ton!

Thank you in advance for those of you willing to help out!

On a broader perspective it's encouraging that steam is evolving (albeit slowly) on the matter of adult games. I wonder if other popular patreons will be able to have their way with Steam Greenlight. Anywho it's good for exposure of Adult Video Games as a whole.

The level of sexuality allows on Steam is about that allowed in an R-rated movie. If you want to go X, you have to do it with an off-steam patch, the way HuniePop did. And you will be disappointing very nearly 100% of your user base if you don't plan on going X.

To clarify my intentions. I don't plan on modifying my direction for the game from my original plan, and I don't plan on making off-steam patches. I submitted to Greenlight in response to Steam's recent decisions to include completely uncensored erotic games and novels. I am of the opinion that I would rather see sex in games over violence, and the degree to which violence is allowed in games is at a grotesque level, and it's a double-standard that sex is demonized the way it is. As I said in another comment, if anything, this campaign to get the game greenlit is a statement to that effect and nothing more, but I won't compromise my original proposal to all of you supporters.

I thought, steam will close greenlight and will open steamdirect.

Yes, I've read that too, but there is no timeline aside from "Spring". So I figured I'd give this a shot in the meantime.

Not sure if it'll work out for you as you plan but sure I'm happy to help. Nudity on Steam isn't that rare but when the sex is involved, It'ld be tricky. I didn't play Witcher 3 but are there scenes explicitly showing sexual intercourse? Big game companies mostly do it by "under the blanket" style.

Thanks for the support. Take a look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwNzQeo_8GI Some of these scenes are definitely "over the sheets". Can't say that House Party is even to the point of being that erotic yet, though I hope to get there soon. :)

You do realise that steam will allow NO NUDITY ect. Then you'll have to host an "uncencor patch" somewhere else

They've been changing this policy and allowing fully uncensored games on. I've been following the news of this as of lately. More and more games with no censors are being added. There is even a game called Genital Jousting on there which features penises fighting with each other. If anything, this campaign is about bringing those barriers down for myself and other developers like me. Games like The Witcher 3 (put out by major studios) also feature nudity and sex in their games, and are allowed on Steam in their entirety as well.
