Patreon Tier Benefit Changes
Big changes are coming soon to the Eek Games Patreon!
First, exclusive Office Party updates are coming soon to the Eek! Games Patreon. Enjoy private priority access to teaser videos, screenshots, and a tech demo of the game in the future. We know you guys are stoked to see what our team has been working on for Office Party, and we can't wait to share all the exciting upcoming content!
Next, benefits in our $1-$15 tiers will mostly remain the same, but stable releases will now only be available to our $25 patrons.
Alphas and betas are now coming to Steam, but all of our $5 through $25 Patrons will still receive two-week early priority access. There are also big modifications occurring within our $20-$25 tiers. These two tiers will also receive some sweet additional benefits to balance this change. Twice per month, we will post polls discussing various House Party content and let your votes structure the game. We’re also adding teaser media to these tiers. We have developer screenshots, visuals for new features, and other awesome snippets we’d love to share early with all of you!
Another huge feature we’re adding for our $20 and $25 tiers is access to private live House Party development streams. We know many of you wonder what goes on behind the scenes at Eek!, and now you can see for yourself. Members from our team will broadcast development work, art, characters, environments, and may answer stream comments at their discretion.
We’re excited to share these portions of our development process directly with you. If you have questions or want a full look at each of our tiers, how they have changed, and what they now include, please refer to our Patreon page.
Thanks always for your feedback and support. We hope you enjoy the changes!
Thanks,
- Eek! Team

So what I am hearing is you dont care about anyone who is not giving you half the price of a full game every month? We give what we can and have been for a long time but if we dont give $20 or more we will now get less while you give more to the $20+ to make up for it? That doesn't make any sense, its a shame I think this is a fun game but not worth helping people who have become money hungry!
We hear you. Look out for a follow-up announcement on this topic very soon.
Alright folks, we're going to make another announcement here on Patreon in the next week or so that will touch upon these concerns and outline what we're going to do to ensure that long-term Patrons have access to stable updates without requiring any additional financial commitment(s). Thanks for making yourselves heard <3
Thanks for listening :)
I'm not sure that removing stable releases from the $1-$15 tiers is the best recognition to long-term supporters .... I think I understand what you're doing (trying to stop people gaming the system and subbing to get the stable release and then cancelling straight after) but is there a way you can add a time requirement to it? Like full benefit only unlocks on your second month? or some other way to try and cover this This change won't affect me personally, but just thinking about the people it will affect. I'm predicting there's going to be more than a few ruffled feathers here
We can look into that, sure. I get that this came as a shock and calls some things into question, most especially for those who've supported us for awhile. I'll be re-discussing these comments with Bobby again shortly. Thanks for speaking out despite not being affected :)
I am not sure this change is good. this is a HUGE slap in the face to long term patrons who have been subscribed and supporting this account for a long time. These patrons are now effectively losing their access to updates to a game that they have been supporting for quite a while. Being a subscriber for three years has now effectively gotten me nothing because now in order to keep the game updated I have to essentially buy it again on steam. This feels like a knee jerk reaction to issues with people who subscribe and unsubscribe right away to cheat the system to get the game cheaper than the steam listing, and this change has screwed over all the loyal supporters that now have no way to keep their game up to date without basically buying it twice.
"Stable releases" - You'd still see updates but not necessarily past Alpha (or beta?) .... That's how I read it anyway
Thanks for the reply, Erasmus!
No problem. You can also hit me/us up on Discord any time!
What on earth does access to "stable releases" mean? The only sensible definition I can think of would necessarily include everyone.
"Stable releases" refer to the versions that would be available on Itch.io, Game Jolt, and Steam for purchase by the general public. Alpha and Beta releases are not considered "Stable releases".
Yes, the access to private live House Party development streams is quite interesting, I think many will enjoy watching what happens behind the scenes
It mostly involves a lot of coffee, cursing, and sighing. Maybe occasionally some singing, nay...crooning.
Will the polls be on set days of the month or, will they just be posted randomly? Thanks.
There aren't necessarily going to be set days. Generally speaking, when we're faced with a development, aesthetic, or content-related choice that we feel could greatly benefit from poll feedback, we'll post one. I.e. we won't post a poll re: "how should we optimize this back-end system?". We'd wait until we were faced with a choice of character outfits, content paths/endings, that sort of thing.
Wait.. So when is Office Party expected to be available for your patreons?
We'll have more info on that in the future.
