sorry, i know this post is 3 months old at this point but im commenting now because i legit haven't played since february because of this update. i just had to force update my game because i got an itch to play the game i've played since 5yrs old and i'm still so frustrated at what it has become. anyways--this is all to say that i tried to go cc shopping and slowly realized that like 9 out of 10 of the main cc creators i follow joined the marketplace!! im so glad that you have not, probably would've been the final blow for me 😅

Personally, I think EA believes we're doing a favor, which isn't the case. Them create content for us yourselves, and it's clear that one way to show our appreciation is by paying us. We also give so much better publicity. It's truly appreciated, and we're grateful that you and other creators continue to provide us with the content. I love youuuu sooo much <3333

I'm sticking with my creators on Patreon! I know Patreon siphons up some of the monthly fee but I think it's less than what EA is sucking up.

I also first of good side like creator's work will be available for console players and for more people is it is easier to install/uninstall from game where mode function build in. I was modding games and sometimes it is really a pain and for example BG3 put mod manager in game for free and even they doesn't have everything I want it is easier to try new things and navigate(in such games mods are harder to put in game without 3side applications). But the % they pay creators is insane! They want almost all of the price for themselves doing the thing that most games add in game FREE and never charging creators. I am still pissed off after news about that. Thank you for your honesty and I will definitely support creators I love directly other than pay such an absurd of price to EA for literally nothing!

EA is horrible, they want 70% of the creators work even though they already charge us 1270€ for a mediocre game thats crumbling apart due to the poor code and engine.

What i really dont like is how they use other creators for making money. Its very expensive! I was so surprised of the prices. I wound rather support creators for a small montly fee than pay that amount for a set im unsure im gonna use. Its like roblox and call of duty... to play and be appart of others that has gear you have to pay. And if you do not have the money you are often of lower rank and does not has the same advantage.

Thank you! It's just insidious as far as I can see, EA stops making content for the Sims 4 to focus on the new game and just collecting a HUGE percentage off Creators work. Who are also responsible for maintaining their mods on the platform. Easy Money! And what I hate about Roblox essentially. And now you are reliant on EA and if you go against them they might remove it from the Marketplace. Also I pay people here so I have access to all their content, the best bits especially. If those are now behind a permanent paywall, what am I paying them for again? Just being part of this over priced microtransaction stuff is bad in my eyes. And it won't be on console yet, if ever so it doesn't benefit players there. I'm glad you are not supporting the platform, as Maxis team is also against it. Instead of paying their own employees ( and benefits etc) on a contract for content ( like Sims store in sims 3 that was also horrible btw) they just leech off Creators and can lay off Maxis staff. It's not a good development for the game at all.

The EA Marketplace is their version of the Microsoft Store for Minecraft Bedrock. EA's way to make more micro-transactions. Make people pay for CC that they could find free somewhere else. EA is not getting any more of my money. I'm not buying the last pack or any kits. PIF won't get any of my moeny.

I appreciate that Jolie. This really feels similar to what Bethesda pulled. Funny thing is that Bethesda eventually broke and just made an implemented mod library in game. Strange how Maxis acts like that’s impossible.

And it CAN be done, through CurseForge and for free (ARK Survival Ascended does it!) so I don't want to hear their predatory excuses. Sorry. This entire thing has gotten me fired up! I'm definitely 50/50. On the one hand, it doesn't seem that much different from kits, but now they'll have their own location and maybe be a little easier to navigate? On the other hand, I am NOT happy about the in game currency thing :/ if I'm gonna buy something I would much rather pay the 2-5 dollars and be done with it rather than having to buy coins.

So glad you think so! Aside from the fact Moola looks like a complete ripoff for players, creators only getting 30% from EA for doing all of the work is ridiculously greedy. I don't care if that's comparable to what other companies offer with this model, I don't think that's fair compensation when they do it either.

The only thing I was liking was the possibility of console players to get CC content like the rest of us. AND possibility of more income for creators of course.
