Project Announcement - The Rite of Superiority

Edit: We hit 25 supporters for a bonus scene!

The Rite of Honor is undertaken when a Krogan wants to be considered for breeding. A lesser known variant, The Rite of Superiority, is performed when it involves another alien species. It is Krogan duty to show the true might of the species to the rest of the galaxy.

The project is actually a lot more complete compared to the other movie when they were announced. I already have a first pass draft of all three main scenes, so that is already a two minute draft done. On the other hand, I've not prepared the bonus scenes much because most of them just end up getting wasted. I'd rather poll what people want before making them.

Now, this probably isn't the project people were expecting next. This movie pretty much only exists because it started as commission work, but it went smoothly enough to expand it while waiting for VA availability. Otherwise, I've been on the edge of giving up movies entirely. Thinking about how the other movies went, I've had to re-evaluate how I want to do this. The last movie went poorly enough that it took away all my confidence of doing more.

The year started with releasing alternates to the Shadowheart movie and that was met with record patron losses. Considering over a hundred hours it takes to render big movies in Cycles, the alternates were just a straight up detriment, so that it why they are now part of the bonus goals. That is a lot of time working on versions people didn't want when I could have been making something completely new instead.

Similarly, the supporter goals were meant to be stepping stones to building up the supporter base. The idea was that built up over time, I could make longer movies with smaller goals until I no longer needed them. Supporter count actually dipped lower than where it started quickly after the Shadowheart movie, so bonus goals have to be higher if supporter gain is only temporary.

As of right now, I have 261 patrons and 27 subscribers for 288 supporters. That will be the starting point for the bonus count. Without any bonuses factored in, the movie has a pretty comfortable September release window.
