The Octave Collection - Part One
Month one of the set and of course its my favourite part of the home...the kitchen! This set has a lot of tiny details that I would love to explain to you all, but unfortunately I don't have my microphone with me, so I can't do my usual overview video to explain everything! 😔
The most important thing you need to know is all about those double ovens you have been waiting for! Unknown to me before I decided to tackle this project, the DHD built in ovens have a glitch which only appears if the counter they are slotted to isn't empty. So unless you leave the counter above you oven completely empty, the oven door animation will look totally wonky and appear to open at floor level 🤦🏾♀️ Also if you have a low and high oven in game, your sim will always default to using the low oven. They will NEVER use the high oven, even if you queue up the action from there. So to allow you to have the double oven look and force your sims to use that high oven, I've included a decorative low oven, so you can still get the look and your sims will be forced to use the high oven like we all want to see!
I would have loved to make more appliances, but there just wasn't enough time to fit them all in. Thankfully next time I do a kitchen I can add to them and future kitchen can also include the new appliance unit using the same dimensions, so you can mix & match everything.

hello there ♥ love this kitchen set *_* but I just noticed my sims cant cook on the wooden/metal accent counter. Idk if it is intendet or a bug. the other one works just fine.
I'm so sorry I troubled you with this. I've never used autocounters before, didn't realize I turned it on. Thank you for helping regardless.
oh don't worry its a very common issue! You definitely aren't the first and you won't be the last person I mention it to 😊
I actually as of today am having this same issue. I keep all my script mods (mccc and ui cheats) up to date also. It would appear that the Octave decorative, lower, upper oven, and Induction Hob are not able to be placed. Everything else within the pack seems to be fine. Also, the ovens that I've placed in previous builds are there and still functionable. I went to a build that I just completed yesterday that I had used the lower oven in and it's there, but when I copied it to try to place it within that build (thinking maybe it was just an issue with the lot or build I was working on) it wouldn't place either. I just tested all of my other cc counter ovens and cooktops, it's the same thing. Stand alone ovens seem to work fine, so I'm not sure what the hitch is. Btw, in case you do read this, I am OBSESSED with Spoons and Octave. I've been using them for nearly all of my recent builds. Love love LOVE your work <3
If the can't be placed it means you have auto counters turned on. You need to have auto counters turned off for them to place correctly. you can turn auto counters back on after placing them
Hi Harrie! First off, I wanted to thank you for making this amazing set!!! It looks brilliant and I’ve already decorated so many builds with it. 😊 However, I am having some issues with the ovens. No matter where I put them, they don’t seem to work. I’ve tried putting the decorative bottom oven with the top oven as you suggested, as well as the useable bottom oven with the top oven. I’ve also tried the useable bottom oven without the top oven, and I even placed the useable bottom oven on a normal counter. In each of these scenarios I’m unable to even click on the oven and get the menu options to cook. Is there a setting that I need to change or something in order to make this work? Thank you so much!!
I haven't had anybody report a similar issue. In these cases I would usually suggest to make sure your script mods are up to date, out of date mods can cause these kind of unexplainable glitches to happen in game.
This one is really cool! I only have an error with placing the ovens into the High counter. It is possible to put it in, but it's not visible afterwards. Am I doing something worng?

I agree with Coco Mac. And I think you misunderstood this comment. It is impossible to make the same island as in the picture, because the colors of the kitchen take the menu for connecting kitchen worktops beyond the menu screen and you cannot make such a worktop as in the promo photo. I hope I said it right and you understand what I'm talking about.
I don’t think that’s what they meant. But to solve your issue simply change the filters in the catalogue and it will move the counter further to the right hand side so you can select the island pieces. Filtering by pack or colour for example
love this set only complaint is with the island.. there no option to have a normal style island and there is no way to flip the side the island is on in the promo photos the bar stools island is on the right there is no way to move it to the left
sorry, but my days of making islands that conform to "normal" standards are long behind me. I aim to make special pieces that you can't find anywhere else. There are plenty of other creators out there making standard kitchen islands, I choose to stick to my own path and not conform to what is "expected". If the design calls for a standard island, I'll make one, but this design didn't, so I didn't make one. I hope that makes sense
