Kwatei Collection - Part 4

I bet you weren’t expecting this title to pop up in your inbox today! Surprise—welcome to Part 4 of the Kwatei Collection.

I first started this journey back in 2022, but when the Royalty & Legacy Expansion Pack introduced a neighborhood with such a distinct African soul, it created an itch I just had to scratch. While I was thrilled to see West African CAS and Buy items finally added to the game, I felt we could still use a few more essentials to really round out the vibe.

I have to admit, when the EP was first released, the aesthetic of the neighborhood caught me off guard. Unlike the CAS and food items, which felt distinctly West African, the architecture didn't quite "scream" that same heritage. It bugged me that I couldn't immediately place the inspiration. At first, I thought it leaned North African—perhaps Casablanca—but after some deep-diving, I found the closest references in East Africa, specifically Kenya.

Kenya's history as a trade hub for the Orient and India inspired a unique fusion of African, Islamic, and Indian architecture. That discovery sent me down a Pinterest rabbit hole, and here we are! The real "aha!" moment was the Lamu Door included in this set. It’s the perfect blend of traditional influence and a modern eye, and I’ve made sure it coordinates perfectly with the doors and windows from previous parts of the collection.

For those of you waiting on Del Sol, don’t worry! We will be heading back there very soon once we finish the interior expansion items for this set. To thank you for your patience, I’ll be posting a poll shortly so you can decide which room we tackle first!
