And here we are, with the beginning of arc 6! The story seems to be going at a faster pace than I originally expected, and in a very good way (I hope)! I can't say anything about the chapter, of course, not yet, especially not with the massive amount of speculation as to exactly what might have befallen our poor battered magical girl Octavia. But, here it is!
As for arc length, this one might be ... short. Maybe just 4 chapters? Maybe longer, maybe 6. I can't see it getting any longer than that, I don't think. (She says, inviting doom.) Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this one, dear readers! I have such delights in store for you.
Also, I have more fanart this week, from over on the Discord server! First up, an incredible rendition of This Machine, with bonus Azure Infinity, (by sporktown heroine); I want to highlight this one especially, not just because it's amazing art, but because it's fascinating to me to see different interpretations of Octavia's newfound transformation. Next up, Scarlet Edge doing her best impression of Sif from Dark Souls, with extra laser eye version, (also by flaxsquiddle). After that, several Maidens-themed Magic the Gathering cards: Octavia Carter/This Machine, Francesca Fairfax/Scarlet Edge, Subjugate, and 'Forcepup', (all by General Mischief, using art by sporktown heroine and Cera). Last but not least, we have the Zoogviet Moonion, in both colour and simple versions, (also by General Mischief). Gosh, that's ... that's so much fanart! I am still endlessly flattered and delighted that so many readers have been having fun drawing fanart inspired by Maidens. Thank you all!

Oh goodness hahaha, well, this was fun in all the best ways! Wow! I'm actually so digging their vibe right now. Scarlet, confused but also definitely smitten in her way and unsure. Octavia barely holding on and confused herself, but more certain than Scarlet. I think they are getting better at admitting things, if slightly! Francesca saying don't make it vulgar, so you think of it as pure? 🥹
(I somehow totally missed this comment, two weeks ago! My apologies, I don't think I got the usual notification for it.) Octavia is certainly more sure of herself here than Scarlet. But she also seems to have an odd definition of purity, something very personal to her.
