Maidens of the Fall, Arc 3, Pariah, Chapter 1
Chapter wanders vaulted halls, through forgotten glories of faded past, wreathed in dust and blanketed beneath snow, leaving solitary footprints on the stone.

As always, an epub version of the chapter is also attached!
And here we are, in the third arc! I shan't say anything much yet, of course; I'll let Octavia do the talking, and everything else. She's the one who got herself into this mess. Sort of.
As for the (planned) length of arc 3, I'm not sure yet! Originally it was going to be just 4 chapters, but after writing the second arc and this opening chapter here, I'm building in some longer expectations. Seven chapters? Maaaaybe eight? It all depends on ... well, not just Octavia. She's not the only actor pressing up against the walls of the world, after all.
Anyway! I hope you enjoy this, dear readers! I am having an absolute blast writing Maidens of the Fall, and we've only just begun!
Also! I have more fanart to share with you all, from over on the discord server! This week we have an illustration from a couple of chapters back, of Octavia struggling to ignore Grimgrave, (by sporktown heroine.) Then we have Live From The Moon/Octavia as a streamer, (by cubey.) I love all the little details in that one! And last but not least, an illustration of Scarlet Edge, (by Molten Constellation.) It's amazing to see so much fanart already, I'm really happy to see so many readers having fun with this! Thank you all!

Fuck. I knew something awful was going to happen, but... Fuck Poor Octavia
Nobody deserves this kind of betrayal, especially from somebody so close. Octavia is far from perfect, but this ... this is going to make it harder for her to ever trust again.
Peppermint tea, yuck! Not even a Zoog would drink that cat piss... Octavia needs to try and be more like a Zoog. A Zoog would have never fallen for a cheap trick like this.
Peppermint tea is ... mm, yeah, some people do like it, but I happen to share Octavia's taste, in this particular detail. And I agreed. Octavia needs to think like a zoog. Zoog smarts!
Gramms and making terrible decisions for you that result in vomiting blood, name a more iconic duo.
Big oof, indeed! I hope this didn't strike too close to home for any readers, but I suspect it may have done.
Oh poor Octavia is such a wet cat. Or a wet zoog I suppose.
She really is! Poor thing is wet and standing in the rain and needs to be scooped up and taken indoors.
