I Spent $4000 Fixing the Twike and then Crashed It

Oh boy. What I thought was just going to be a quick battery build turned into a time-consuming and expensive complete Twike rebuild. Was it worth it? Probably not, but whatever. I had fun.

I was this close to buying that before you when I saw it on FB marketplace. I guess I missed the part about the dead battery. Also didnt realize it was so hard to drive.
My favorite part was that the crash wasn't more serious. My second favorite was the cameo by one of our favorite Under Dunn characters, Excessive Mahogany.
Always remember. When cutting something open with a very sharp blade, cut towards yourself in a sharp and jerking motion!
Would you be able to divulge your source for those 18650 packs?
Batteryhookup.com Unfortunately, they appear to be out of stock of the exact ones I ordered
Brilliant video, I wonder if you could potentially fix the black paint by drilling a syringe sized hole each end of the peeled sections and then inject paint through the passage. Then you could CA glue the holes and hopefully they won’t be too noticeable
Was the "Marvelously Mundane Motor Cars" shirt you had in the beginning made by you? If so, take my money!
Nope! That's from the Hagerty UK "Festival of the Unexceptional"
FYI every type of hotglue that I've tried can be unstuck using rubbing alcohol pretty easily .
I was gonna say that, one of my early videos explains that
Do those heat gun solder connections work well? I’ve been getting a lot of ads for them lately.
I like them. They're quick and easy
Just like my hearse when the transmission filter needs to be changed not going over 25 mph
Corrosion being the cause of the 0V issue is rather likely, I've also had that happen to me with an electric scooter battery in winter storage. It creates just enough of a path for the current to slowly drain the cell. Mine thankfully did have a BMS, so it just refused to charge. https://i.imgur.com/HFSYFtg.jpg Also, next time you have to separate hot glue, try using IPA (rubbing alcohol). It wicks itself under the glue and make it pop off with no issues. Though I haven't tried it with any "high strength" variants.
I've used it with high strength glue a few times and got it to work. Formulation will vary, though.
This has to be the worst vehicle you’ve ever purchased?
Nah. The Wheego is definitely worse
lots of design fault in this, so all you did was improve it, just add two more "improvements" 1. add a key switch that use the same key as steering lock that prevent drive if not in key switch (some dangerous machines have that to prevent start if mechanical lock have been open with the key) and b add a warning sticker "velcro shoes only" then you should be (more) safe
I'll race you on my lawnmower, haha 😄 😆
Holy Crap! A company looking at an Aging Wheels video and giving advice? Did I stumble into a parallel dimension? Is it Bearinstein or Bearinstine?
Btw, you can loosen a lot of hot glue types with alcohol.
Isopropyl wets between hot glue and the surface is bonded to. It works well, but I've very tried it on the high strength stuff.
Yayyyy
I loved the first Twike vid! What a neat little thing
