Direction Change in November
Hello everyone!
Following Patreon's upcoming update that's gonna force me and every creator on the platform to switch the billing method from "first-of-the-month billing" to "subscription billing" on the coming 1st of November 2026, which will totally not work with how I have been sending rewards monthly for almost 7 years anymore.
I'm gonna stop making brush sets as a monthly reward.
As it will not make sense if people come to subscribe, get charged that day, and need to wait until the month ends to receive the rewards they are looking for.
Instead, I may try to make it a product that can be purchased separately, like how I have been selling on Gumroad. I noticed that there's a similar function to sell a product separately on Patreon, too. And that way, I will not have to make a new brush set every month anymore.
My Patreon will remain the same until the end of October, 2026. I imagine that after this coming update, my Patreon will turn into mostly a tip jar, with other benefits except brushes posted on the Patreon page directly instead of being delivered via direct messages as it has been. At that time, I will also have to rework all the tiers and prices again.
As I don't think Patreon will change their decision on this anymore, I feel like I should inform all of my subscribers in advance about my plan.

Honestly I'd be happy to wait until the end of the month to get brushes, but I understand if that makes it difficult with how you do your deliverables. I've been a patreon for around 2-3 years now because I love your brushes and 10 was reasonable for a monthly brush set of your quality. I'd buy from gumroad as well, i just hope they're a similar price point as the rewards as I'm only looking for the brushes GL on this shift! I'll be keeping an eye out!

(*´꒳`*) It would be ideal if everyone could have the same thought as you about waiting for the reward while being charged upfront for like a month, which is unfortunately impossible based on what I've been experiencing so far. Also, yes, I'm planning that the price for the brush set selling on Gumroad after that time should be just $10 without other monthly rewards included, instead of $15 with other rewards packed together. But I'll see what it will be like again at that time~
I'll be honest, but I think a lot of people will not actually mind if they get their rewards a month later, probably. But it might be hard for you to manage that way... since you'll need to check daily to see if there are people that need rewards @ - @
That would be ideal if everyone could have the same thought as that about waiting for like a month to get a reward after being charged. And yes, I imagine it could be pretty much troublesome to keep tracking, since I can't send reward messages to everyone separately, individually.

This is terrible news, I'm sad to see them go. But that said, thank you for the many years of wonderful brushes you've dreamed up. To be able to put out so many month after month is incredible. Whatever you decide to do here, or even elsewhere, I'm sticking around. I recently started checking out your timelapses and they're pretty fascinating! Don't let this setback stop you from being amazing.

Is that to say that you will be releasing a brush set at the end of this month but then that's the last one for subscriber rewards?

Duuuuude that's so unfair! I hate that they've taken the billing choices away, I thought they only set the Subscription based billing on new pages that opened up, I didn't realize it was a planned thing to become the new default. I'm sure you'll figure something out! I love your work and your brushes, so however you plan to go about it I'm sure it'll be great!

I was wondering what you would choose to do come the forced change! I had to change up my patreon rewards too for it. Maybe have like, a $5 tier that allows you to then buy the brushes for a discount in the shop here? I LOVE your brushes and use them all the time, and will def still be supporting for more! ^_^

So, Patreon will no longer have the monthly brushes; they will be sold in a different shop (or as a solo purchase post on Patreon); and the tier list and prices on Patreon will change? Oh you get that only now ? My Patreon page have been set against my will to "subscription date" for months now. I have a reward tier like yours and to avoid any problems I just send the reward a month later. Every billing from August get their reward in September. I'm sure you know but there's a tag system called "avantages" allowing you to track who deserves what and when directly through patreon.
It seems that I tried not to click their instruction to switch it all the time until now! Yeah, I have been using the relationship manager to filter who to send rewards to all the time. That's interesting to hear it still works for you although it charges members on a subscription day, but members receive rewards a month later. Which is great if they don't have a problem with it that way! I should keep that in mind. Thanks for sharing~ (*´꒳`*)

Unfortunately yes. Patreon has informed me since last year about this, and now the day is coming close, without any sign of them changing their decision. The older brushes will remain accessible in chat and be purchasable on my Gumroad. Hopefully I can continue selling new brushes there, as well as here in a different way after that time.
