Totk shrine replacements. I don't care if they're "top tier" on an individual basis, just way less "rauru's blessing" also extra shines to fill out the max stam & hearts "no glitch" style. Same for BotW. Idk if it's possible, but a reinstatement of the MS Trials in TotK? I'll pledge for that alone.

What about more Sky Islands

Letting people at least read the posts with regards to future version previews/early releases. I'd be more willing to donate if I could read the change logs. Otherwise I'm fine with waiting.

Probably nothing, there are a too many things in the world that require subscriptions to access which is a scummy practice no matter who is doing it, and $20+CAD a month for basically a single niche game mod to get the most updated version of a mod because of a paywall is way too much to justify the cost regardless of wanting to support the creator or not. My main monthly extra costs are spotify, youtube premium and amazon prime, and this patreon subscription alone would be just shy of what I pay for all 3 of those combined after tax. You could significantly decrease the cost of the subscription, that would allow me to justify my support ($5USD-$8CAD) I could reasonably afford to part with to show my support, but as it stands, what is offered here is not worth $20+ a month in my opinion.

how do i even add the randomizer to the game files

g
greybuscat · January 9, 2025

not sure how applicable this is to future projects, but im a big fan of RNG heavy mods (like the randomizer obviously) that have editable config files that let me tweak and dial in all the parameters to my personal tastes i understand if this is beyond your control when working with switch games, but easier integration with other mods would be really nice having more, cheaper tiers is by far the thing that is most likely to get me to start paying again, so these suggestions are less a matter of "what would bring me back" and more "how much would i be willing to pay if i came back"

Documentation and more details (like what versions the mod works for, etc,) and generally just not having the cash for it right now.

just keep adding stuff like you are, but also start including customizable options to make the game harder or more interesting. if you can manually purge your different inventories as well as on/off key items then players can make their own rules about (punitive death/novel progression routing) and how you get your stuff without locking anyone into one modality. also manual +/- max (hearts/stamina/battery/gear slots) opens lots of challenge and custom rules options. ways to make certain cycles happen at higher X rates than the others like monsters or take item for instance . --- more interesting use of (redundant/special) items like (koroks/bubblefrogs/tear pools/activating shrines & roots/etc...) --- tiny link able--- cool options using existing features like half of all prohibitions is on at once and when you discover a korok it rescrambles what half. or the second inventory goes back and forth constantly throughout the game or at XYZ given trigger point<s>. --- respawning koroks & chests etc on death so they can be used again for whatever custom rules we make particularly concerning punitive death. or depths dark always on everywhere --- just keep adding more cool intuitive sandboxy modifiers like environmental changes and challenges --- keep working towards problems like getting enemies to spawn where they currently can't or getting armors randomly pre dyed or being able to have more random enemy types and loadouts. i'll come back for the hardmode option stuff alone. without them though the game is too repetitive, even with all the crazy variables you have added the game just becomes trivially easy and linear as your gear and stats quickly stack up. there needs to be ways to impose limitations to force me to approach everything in novel ways or i spend the whole playthrough imagining how much more fun it would be if only. if you don't have enough stamina to swim across a tiny river or climb more than a few feet but you have a bunch of zonai devices to experiment, that is very fun and changes the entire game experience. it opens up infinite scenarios where the fun of the game is just trying to traverse and survive with all the chaos and the sense of accomplishment at every little checkpoint that you overcome all the exciting interactions instead of just plowing through without sparing any of it a glance. it's about the journey, not the destination. i don't want to force difficulty on anyone who is not looking for it, but i want those options. the inherent mechanics of the game plus all your enhancements and new features have too much locked potential. just keep going though for sure</s>

Not much tbh. I have the money, but it takes a lot for me to sub to a Patreon. I'm mostly here for progress update on stuff.

It would be nice if there were tutorials or bts on how you made such amazing mods. Or even scripts or tools you use etc that might encourage other modders to be interested in learning.

I just don’t have the funds right now, but some small free projects could help me want to pay for the bigger ones later… and I have no idea how to install the mods so I don’t want to risk paying for something I can’t use

Unfortunately, that's a bit of a problem on the internet these days. Everyone expects to get everything for free. Personally, I always see it with mixed feelings. On the one hand, many people just do it as a hobby. I think there should be understanding for the fact that you don't necessarily pay money. On the other hand, I also see some projects that I personally like and I think it's worth the money. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether to get an EA account or rather the next AAA game for €80. Unfortunately, I can't afford it at the moment.
