Video: $12 LOFI Machine aka "My Adventures with Microcassettes"
For the past three months, I've gone deep into the world of microcassette recorders. What started as a quick experiment, me singing a few notes into my Panasonic dictaphone, quickly ballooned into a full-on obsession: I now have six microcassette recorders of varying makes and models, each of which sounds completely different. This video is a chronicle of my ongoing adventures.

Well this seems like a lot of fun!! 💜 I've had this old Sony for a number of years, it has all the same features plus a couple, but takes full size cassettes. I think the belt finally gave out on it though, so I really need to crack it open one of these days. Where did you get the pack of belts? I definitely need to get one of those.
I actually picked up a Panasonic RR-900D recently with the foot switch. Controller it with your feet adds a lot of value to the machine as a quasi-looper. Great video!
Ah, that’s really cool! The day I was finishing this video up, a Panasonic RR-830 I had ordered finally arrived. It’s the same machine as the 930, but it uses regular cassettes.
