CPS 1.5 First Beta

You've been hearing me talking about CPS1.5/2 for ages. Well, it's not complete but I want to share a beta so you see that it is coming together step by step.
This beta features all CPS 1.5 games booting up and playable, albeit only 1P and 2P controls work. CPS 1.5/2 has a complex relationship between the M68000 and Z80 chips. In CPS 1.5, the Z80 ROMs are even encrypted. So getting the games to work hasn't been trivial.
Now, the bad news is that we still lack sound because the DSP chip is not part of this beta yet. But the Z80 and M68k/Z80 interface which is needed for sound as much as the DSP are now in place and working correctly. Otherwise, the games wouldn't boot up.
I am not very happy about releasing it before having the sound. But full sound may still take another two weeks and I do want to show you that this is real, and that progress is good.
I'd like to thank you for your support and patience. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have got this done.

Lleváis oyéndome hablar de CPS1.5/2 tanto tiempo que no puedo retrasar más el enseñar el progreso. Aquí os traigo los ficheros para CPS1.5 pero... aun no hay sonido.
Y no precisamente porque no haya nada del sonido ya hecho. Para que los juegos arranquen hace falta tener el Z80, con su encriptación, funcionando y el complejo mecanismo de comunicación entre el M68000 y el Z80 también hace falta. Es decir, gran parte del sistema de sonido está ya en esta beta.
Falta enganchar el DSP para que suene. El DSP lo tengo al 80% hecho, pero aun necesito al menos dos semanas de trabajo. Así que para que viérais que si existe un cor y que esto va sin prisa sin pausa, os traigo los ficheros.
Y otra nota: los controles sólo funcionan para los juegadores 1P y 2P de momento.

Que pasada Jose! a saber cuantos horas y comeduras de cabeza te ha debido dar el dichoso Qsound (el system16 seguramente sería mas sencillo ;D ) mi mas sincera enhorabuena y darte las gracias por tu trabajo el cual nos hace disfrutar tanto a tantos! Un saludote!
Did not try it yet, looking for some spare time to do it, last weekend was booked for gaming, but, the time was used to fix the NES... the PPU died..

Well there you go, Rob could make it work, that should fix your problem ;). I used .216 Mame roms and they all work.

Thanks! 3/5 games are booting for me. Slammasters and the other wrestling game won't boot. All roms came from the same place. Is there a preferred mame version romset I should try? Amazing work, JT!
No, I think even rather old rom sets should be fine. As you know MiSTer can get confused with folders rather easily, so I would check that.
Awesome! I am curious what the issue was with Slammasters and the address error.
I think when the M68k tries to read the Z80 ROM, it creates a bus problems some times. I haven't been able to catch it yet.
