January Work
I have a number of bugs and small fixes to do. Do I work on that on January or do I start CPS1?

I was playing around with Direct video last night and I thought I have DD working fine. Then later it was pulsing/glitching badly. I’ve got three HDMI/VGA adapters. One just arrived so gonna try that out shortly. I’ll probably build an IO board anyway for fun (I have a blank PCB) but Direct Bideo am easy option just now! Glad to hear CPS1 going well!
I guess it would be nice to know that existing cores are as good as they can be, but I'm seriously pumped for CPS1!!!! I voted CPS1 but am equally keen to have Double Dragon as perfect as can be. Either way I'll be really happy! Direct Video on existing cores is high on my list though. Thank you JT!
I want to have all perfect too. I have spent today doing mostly maintenance work for existing cores and debugging issues. Direct video is tough because it works for me... I have to look into MiSTer sys files and understand a bit better what may be going on there. CPS1 is advancing faster than expected. You'd be surprised...
Without knowing the severity of issues that are caused by bugs, it is hard to say. If it will only take 20-30 hours to fix up the bugs, do that first.
I suspect it's not just a few hours worth of work, that's why he's asking whether people want him to focus on perfecting the existing cores first, which would likely delay the CPS1 core by a month or two. Unlike CPS0 (where each game still had a somewhat unique PCB), we don't need a separate core for each CPS1 game. It's a single core enabling around 25-30 arcade games, that's why it's my preference to work on that first. I'm probably over-simplifying things, but it's just one additional core before starting the maintenance work. Notable CPS1 games include: Street Fighter II / Cadillacs and Dinosaurs / Ghouls 'n Ghosts / Final Fight / Knights of the Round / Strider. Ultimately though, I don't think there's a right or wrong answer here. Just vote for what you feel is best.
this all sounds great ... Again I can't thank you enough for the work you put into all the cores
Sounds great! :)
Is it much different than other boards?
It resembles Side Arms on the graphics hardware but uses the same CPU as Ghosts’n Goblins. It won’t be hard to do it.
Have you done any work on Rush & Crash, aka speed rumbler? Gracias!
I have got myself a working original PCB and have started to compare the hardware with other boards but I haven’t written code for it yet.
Yes. Polishing and mantainance before introducing new cores. Great job! Keep it up Jose!
Deploy all games prior to cps1 hardware, fix bugs, and then start work on core CPS1. ✌️
Polish up the old before introducing the new
I can only hold a limited number of things in my brain at the one time. If the maintenance work is still fresh in your mind, then you should probably deal with that before starting CPS1. I know everyone is keen for CPS1, but they aren’t the ones doing the work 😉
I really can’t wait for ghouls’n’ghosts, though i also would like all the cps 0 stuff cleared up. Trojan and the rest of cps0 are also sweet games.
Cps1, ¡¡no me lo puedo creer!!, que pasada!!!
yeah i prefer a maintenance for cleaning all the cores. 2020 will be enough long for finish the cps0 and go to cps1(.5) and maybe by extension the x68000.
I'm fine with either. All of the work you are doing is leading up to the CPS1. If the maintenance work makes the CPS1 better or helps to speed the process, I'd do the maintenance work first.
CPS1 for sure; i agree with Juan Diego, there will be time to do all the maintenance.
Don't worry, José, there will be time to do all the maintenance ... people want cores! We want CPS1 👾🙏🏻
I'd like to think we are all patient here, I know I am. Tie up the loose ends first, you're so close to CPS0 perfection now, Maybe tackle the remaining games, then move on to CPS1
Still getting graphical corruption on Tiger Road & F1 Dream so my vote would be to polish those. Not sure if it's related to the memory brand I have in my MiSTer.
As much as I'd LOVE to see CPS1 games on the Mister ASAP, my head has to go with maintainance and polish on the work you have started.
Stay diligent on the CPS0/Nintendo/DD cores and persevere through the issues. The end is in sight for them. I suspect when you dig in you'll solve all the issues quickly and effectively like how you always do. Then go out and kill it with your fantastic CPS1 core!
I think it would be great to spend some time polishing the current cores before moving to CPS1. Its not like anybody is in a hurry, the games are playable on MAME in most platforms, but the important mission here is to get a perfect rendition of the original hardware, so it would be a shame to leave the CPS0 games 99% finished but not perfect. Just my two cents...
other devs already started working on cps1. maybe first end capcom cps0 cores? because perhaps no one will pick this up later? and after that pickup cps1 and maybe work with them?
This would be in collaboration with Electron Ash
Long time waiting for a Cps-1, i think it's time now to start.
Hahaha no pressure at all, we're just hyper hyped for the cps1, but you know, what you think is the best way to go I'll agree. Thank you for the poll.
Any progress on the SID core? :-)
I haven't forgotten about it but I do need to understand better the Commodore 64 user. Otherwise I am not sure I can deliver something meaningful. There are some retro fairs in Spain and some are devoted to specific computers. So I'm thinking about going to a C64 fair and talk with the people there, in front of the hardware and get a more personal feeling of the problem.
