Highlights from 2024 so far
Our developments of this year;
Closing the open betas We have continued working on it, and all Namco System 1 games boot up in the core now. Released 5 public cores compatible with TMNT, Aliens, The Simpsons, Bubble Bobble, etc...
NeoGeo Pocket Beta core release After two years of development, the NGP core was still crashing, and we could not find the bug. We put development on hold for two months to reconsider the approach and finally went for a full redesign. We were able to release the beta in January.
Solved more than 50 reported bugs related to JTCORES showing our commitment to maintenance. Our hope is also to get more developers working within the JTCORES repository. We hope we can show the benefits of this project to the community.
Incorporated universal support within JTFRAME (the framework for JT cores) to define the analog audio signal pathway This initiative sets a new benchmark for sound accuracy in retro gaming. Future cores will benefit from these enhancements from the outset. It was hard to enable this feature and we had a couple of rough weeks of debugging but it has ease development since.
The first beta of the new JTS18 (SEGA SYSTEM 18) core release “Shadow Dancer” and "Alien Storm" are currently supported. The beta seems quite solid after a lot of testing and the games feels great to play.
Added support for the new sidi 128 FPGA platform This is a middle price board, not as featured as a MiSTer but a big improvement over the previous sidi model. For developers, it is a nice board to work with basically because core compilation times are about 3x shorter than on the MiSTer.
Support for more games: Body Slam, Quartet, Parodius da!, Vendetta (Crime Fighters 2), Galaga ’88, Pac-Mania, Dragon Spirit, Dangerous Seed, Blast Off, Pistol Daimyo, Face Off, Pro Tennis World Court, Pro Yakyuu World Stadium, Shadow Dancer, Bloxeed, Quester, Bravo Man, Tank Force, Alien Storm, etc…
1942, 1493, Pirate Ship Higemaru, Vulgus, Capcom’s Commando, Bionic Commando, Alien Storm, etc… for the Analogue Pocket.

While I fully understand that others appreciate it, I am so glad the NeoGeo Pocket 'nightmare' is a thing of the past (huge congrats on the successful development, naturally) and that new arcade cores have started flowing again (System18 soon going public and the awesome surprise of Parodies Da being my favorites). Can't wait for you and your team to work further into the cores-to-come-pipepline. Now that System18 is close to finished thinking about PGM and CV1000 gets me super excited. Keep up your great, impressive work — your attention to accuracy and detail is much appreciated. This is what FPGA is all about.
