January Sneak peak - Dragon Turtle Wyrmling - Early WIP
Hey folks!
The latest poll made it very clear the next baby monsters batch had to include a Dragon Turtle Wyrmling, so I wanted to show you my progress.
Not an easy model for sure, since a lot visual depictions of this creature contradict each other a lot, and very few artworks or minis of wyrmlings themselves (didn't make my life easier with the water effect either xD).
Some look definitely like basic dragons with turtle shells, others more like actual turtles with dragon-like features here and there.
So yeah, a lot of guessing, trial and error left and right, but I think I'm pretty happy with the look I got now ^^

I am still unsure how big the miniature should be, though.
Think you can tell me how big a Dragon Turtle Wyrmling would be, in real-life size, so I can make my calculations :)? I got the adult size, but not the baby.
So far, I figured the mini should be at least 90mm tall, from the base's surface to top of claw, up there, but I ain't sure how accurate it is ^^'
I'll make another poll soon to determine the other two creatures of the batch, removing the Dragon Turtle from the options as well as those who got fewer than 25 votes in the latest poll.

Adult Dragon Turtle are about 25 ft? Real Adult sea turtles are about 3 feet. Real baby sea turtles, right out of the egg, are about 2 inches. If they're comparable I guess a baby dragon turtle right out of the egg would be about 1.5 feet? That wouldnt leave much room to paint or see your beautiful detail! I'd say a dragon turtle 3-5 years would be about 5 feet

The mini will probably stand somewhere between 60 and 70mm tall.
