Blight Knight - WIP #2
Hey folks! Here's my progress on the Blight Knight. Mostly placeholder and still pretty sketchy all throughout, but it gives a good idea ^^ Let me know what you think ;)

when are these due to come out ?
January :) I paused the page for December so you didn't pay for them yet ;)
Yeah, I wouldn't go anything hyper sexualized. GW just did an underworlds warband with a lady chaos warrior and lady sorcerer that fit the aesthetic and weren't just TnA.
Dude, you know me. The most sexualized I went was with the Gnoll Slaver, Drider and Nightwalker. No awkward hips twist, and I never went past B Cup ^^ GW was always my main reference, no pinup model here.
Im super stoked to paint this for my Slaves to Darkness army. Are you going to do a couple lady dark knights too?
I haven't originally planned for female dark knights, but this is a cool idea. Tzeentch and Slaanesh would probably be good candidates for this ^^
Manuel, I know the Dire Troll wasn’t your favorite sculpt but it inspired the heck out of me to paint it up... https://imgur.com/gallery/uhW56wx can I use this as my submission for the painting competition? Or do i need to send it via facebook or discord?
I'm pretty happy with the sculpt itself in the end, but I struggled a lot to make this creature somewhat believable. Several pairs of arms and several heads... the ridiculous territory is never far away and you're constantly pushing against it. Thank god I got lucky and stumbled upon what became the final pose when rotating the full torso down. It became very "Attack on Titan-ish" and it was much more inspiring. The next painting competition isn't up yet. I just received the presupported Nightwalker and will upload to the Dropbox soon. When the competition is up, you'll need to send one single picture will all your best shots in it through Patreon inmails ;)
Hi Manu,i think chaos body more Rotten and bilious with sicky postules..
Yeah, maybe I'll make a rot pass on some areas of the skin at some point ;)
On another note, how did you make the edge of the pauldron "pull" up at a nice angle? I am working on a piece and would like to have better edge development.
Simple sculpting tools, really. Y'know, Zsketch, Clay Buildup, Move, etc. If you're struggling with something, pm me screens on Discord and I'll help you out with anything ;)
The shield is outstanding work, great flow and look nice details and a sense of unique work while feeling as though it fits in with the product line.
Thanks :DD I love doing bas-relief sculpting on shields. It's super fun, creative, experimental, and easy to do ^^
That guy is great wonderful detail and would fit in with a certain company's product line! Would good great if you had options for fantasy and say a grim dark future for weapons! I would add this to my chaos army for sure!
Ahah, thanks Sean, I appreciate it a lot :D You're probably right about weapon options, but I'd still like to stay off GW's radar ^^' Fantasy/AoS, with its more generic look, sounds like a much safer zone than 40k that has a stronger visual identity. Though geared more towards AoS players, I think that guy would still work great as a DnD Boss fight or something ;)
I hope you dont move away from d&d minis, but they are really cool
I'd like to do less DnD specific stuff. Not to worry, I still got a few DnD sets to extend, like the Kenkus, Loxos, Kobolds, baby monsters, etc. DnD will stay, and I will make more, but I'd also like to make my own things. The Drider and Dire Troll, for instance, didn't really inspire me all that much, their production dragged and though I tried my best to be consistent quality-wise, I think it shows. I still wanna make Bugbears, Leonins, etc. but just like a DM, I wanna try homebrews ;)
That big boy is progressing fast.
Thanks ^^ I guess Warhammer stuff is just more inspiring to me ;)
Sick!
Thanks a lot man :D
