Lanterns Episode 5 Reaction!

It’s funny how you said John had a lot of will because to be deserving of the green lantern you need an unimaginable willpower and in the comics John is one of the green lanterns with the craziest willpower

So one thing I wanted to point out, that it kinda made me love the writing. In his interview for the position of Green Lantern, the Guardian asked John about his upbringing and called it "programming". In this episode, we see the Manhunter reveal to John not that she simply killed Abin Ser, but that she "had" to. She didn't want to, but her programming saw his life as a threat to her own, and the guardians' own programming made her kill him. When John says, " I see you", he saw himself in her, as his own programming has led him to do things a lot of people would consider to be monstrous (esp. in the military). This manhunter was unusual because, when all others were terminated via command from the guardians, she did not self-destruct. She instead continued to live, and even began to develop almost human-like emotions, attachments that she did not want to part with. When her life is threatened, we see these feelings being overridden in real time, as she becomes insanely ruthless. But the thing is that the emotions themselves were aberrant, unlike manhunters in general. It's sad because in the moment that John kills her, he is the one who understands her the most because like abin ser. John's programming to put the mission above his feelings forces him to kill her like she did Abin.

So funny thing about Hal lying about having sex with the manhunter. It's because Antoine said how the manhunter targets the alpha. Lmao so Hal just was annoyed she targeted John which is why he says he was the manhunter's main target lmao so petty and funny at the same time
