Hundred Reigns Poll: Pick your future
Hello everyone,
As promised, here's the new poll for the future arc that will follow the Overlord of Crime arc after its conclusion (you can expect some surprises soon, but I'm posting the poll now so you can't guess when it'll end). Simon is reaching a level of power where long reigns are going to slowly become the norm rather than the exception, so you can expect 1 year+ options to come up more often ;)
As always, this poll will run until the final Overlord of Crime chapter is published.
1) Kingmaker: Now being wiser and aware of threats targeting Anna, Simon arranges a betrothal to her and an alliance with her father without leaving a clue as to his true identity. But as he now finds himself with what he once considered an ideal life and in a good position to inherit the Crimson Throne, Simon must confront a difficult truth: that some things will never stay the same, even with time travel…
Includes: A long and semi-peaceful Berwick Islands reign, Anna marriage & development, open Overlord Simon in the mid-reign, Elios Magnos, Balzam, & Librarian lore, some info on the 'divine power.'
Length: Long.
Unlocks: The Berwick Heist, The Book of the Damned, ???.
2) Vouivre Delenda Est: With the Cobweb’s secrets uncovered and knowing how to negotiate with Vouivre, Simon approaches another long-time foe with an offer she can’t refuse. As the Fourth Overlord and Gargauth’s heir sweep the world with an army of shifters and dragons, Simon schemes to make the dragons’ power his own… only to learn these creatures may be more complex than what first impressions would suggest.
Includes: Major Vouivre & Casval character development, Vouivre ‘romance’ (yes, really), dragon-riding Overlord Simon, Berserker & Bard Crestone acquisition, Gargauth’s hoard & Beast Class location.
Length: Medium to long.
Unlocks: The Hoard of Gargauth, The Beast King, The Song of Bujan, Tyrant’s Scales.
3) Simon the Archmage: Having stared in the abyss of magic (in more ways than one) and aiming for a good ending, Simon moves to Cocagne and approaches Remedia again with an offer of alliance. As the Overlord and the Mage resume their affair and work together to save the world from certain destruction, Simon realizes that happiness always comes at a cost…
Includes: Simon and Remedia long-term romance, more spells, Phoenix-related events, Summoner, Mage & Ranger Crestone potential acquisition, a good and bitter taste of the Zodiac Parade.
Length: Long (the longest yet).
Unlocks: The Five Sovereigns.
4) The Sanctuary in the Sky: Eager to help Eole and deal with the Goatfish, Simon finally travels to the Kish Sanctuary. What he finds is a paradise that lives up to the tale and a community who accepts him, where he and Belzemine could find peace away from all the chaos unfolding on the surface. As Simon settles down, he must confront his greatest temptation yet: that of a long and happy life...
Includes: the Kish Sanctuary, a slice of life and peaceful reign, Eole romance, early Belzemine therapy and backstory, new friends & companions, access to the Adventurer & Necromancer Crestones, a front row seat to the Zodiac Parade.
Length: Long (the longest yet).

I was hoping Simon would have a "good reign" after the last "evil" one
I am torn between Voivre and Sanctuary in the Sky. Archmage and Kingmaker don't come as a priority in my opinion and can be done later. I would enjoy seeing the Archmage Arc but perhaps when Simon unlocked a new level in Miasmic Archmage, not to mention it is too soon of the last Cocagne run. Voivre run would be great since we know relatively little about her and her faction and I would bet any intelligence would be much more beneficial in the long run. I am tempted with Sanctuary in the Sky too since; one, our boy could deserve some vacation; two, we know barely anything about the sky isles and what useful stuff could be earned from this considering the other times we have seen impact from it, and lastly third the Zodiac Parade. I think Simon is dealing with things too short-term. I mean, the civil war and stuff are valid and legit threats but considering his circumstances, it would be beneficial to witness the more distant future. We might get to know more about the hidden Serpent Bearer Perk, where the other Zodiacs could emerge, what happenes to them and how the world will look after the apocalypse. Hindsight is one Simon's greatest weapons. My personal list of priorities would be more future knowledge, intelligence of all other groups/factions and Visionary powers for now. Since that seems the most important aspects to acquire early for the sake of all future reigns.
So hear me out, 'dragon-riding' is an honored art that I think most people here would take substantial interest in! Therefore! Dragon! Uh also Vouivre is a vicious shit who hasn't died to Simon yet, some sort of vindication would be nice.
Thematically it would be either Berwick Islands or the Dragons. But Anna herself is a bore. For one, she's aimless. Other retainers are strongly goal-oriented and work towards them. For two, she's shown to be the most possessive of Simon, while also doing the least for him (I dogged on Eole for being a damsel, but she's willing to risk everything for Simon on the regular). Voiuvre so far is pretty 1-dimensional (this isn't a criticism, not every villain needs to be "relatable", some should be straight-up power-hungry monsters) and I prefer it that way. Casval is just Thalas with scales.
Anna stayed with Simon instead of running to save herself like he said to when they were fighting the dryad. She helped him understand how his class works and gains experience better. She also saved his life in the first academy reign when Thalas was about to kill him.
My vote is on Simon the Archmage. This arc feels like a much needed do‑over with how quick everything went downhill. This current dark run seemed like it was all intended to give himself a redo on a potential final route with a solid team. This was why he was pushed to be so evil, to flesh out the organizations secrets... he deserves a win for all that hard work. He’s already figured out spider background info and resolved the reverse mark attack, he should want to use that intel asap! He can also give himself some time to regroup and plan out the next set of adventures with a smart, experienced partner. He really did seem to enjoy having someone in a similar leadership role to talk to, and the growth potential here seems way stronger than in some of the other longer arcs. I also want more info on stepmom and half sis’ relationship, plans and povs. I vote we give Simon some closure and a few chapters between shacking up with someone else he’d have real feelings for. He doesn’t need to marry Anna to help her and solve that blood brothers mystery and honestly, the hell he put Eole through this round definitely wasn’t the hot bed to romance route, i don’t think he’s ready to abandon the progress he was making that last loop quite yet. Dragons will come.
Although I’m going for sanctuary in the sky at the moment I truly believe Kingmaker should be the next one followed by Simon the Archmage; I feel there’s a lot left over from the Cogacne loop and he needs to repeat it to close it out fully
The simple fact of the matter is ....... Logically he would pick something like Sanctuary in the sky ..... Only an idiot would keep dying within 1 year of being reborn over and over again ...... He should just live a normal life for as long as possible and then use some historians/detective work to figure out all of the going ons on the world. Also, with perfect prediction of weather and technological innovation he can dominate without resorting to overlord powers. Frankly watching him repeatedly get himself killed in stupid ways has convinced me he is an idiot or that the overlord class makes is owners more reckless and prone to short term thinking. Time skips should just be used heavily for the decades at a time.
The thing is that "as long as possible" isnt long at all in his case because he only has an year until the Zodiac Parade, and once that starts he has a very limited lifespan due to many factors. There is nowhere he can hide for long once shit hits the fan, even the Kish Sanctuary has a Z-fiend and the Adventurer, not to mention that Vouvrie eventually finds the place in her search for a female kish. If he cant deal with the fiends before they get empowered by Abraxas then the genre of the story changes from fantasy to post-apocalyptic.
I guess I was one of the only people thinking about the stuff happening with Anna in recent chapters but yeah I guess dragon route also works well. I’d say kingmaker should a be a reign soon though.

After thinking it through, an arc with the dragons makes the most sense. They are the last remaining big hurdle to him having a long 'Open' reign as Overlord and the information on how to handle them will be useful for all future reigns. Plus all of the other information coming from the dragons will make a big impact on future plans and there should be a nice upgrade between the Berserker and Bard Crestones to Simon's build.
Raaah Eole romance
Sanctuary in the Sky looks like a good one. I just think it should happen after the Dragon/Berweck arcs thematically. Although it could get crowbarred in without too much trouble. You just switch up Simon's death to come from the Island.
I was leaning toward Achmage Simon but some of the others are right that it's too soon to go back to Cocagne. He should have tier 6 or 7 spells unlocked first.
Damn, with how badly the dragon option did last time i was afraid it would never see the light of day, glad to be wrong this time, now Simon can crack that dragussy.
I have to say, a romance with the dragon is tempting. But Remedia is the way. Can we have both? :)

Simon f-ing that Dragon (in more ways than one) is too good to pass up.
Gang we HAVE TO CONSIDER THE IMPLICATIONS. Long-term Remedia at this point almost CERTAINLY comes with some Overlord Reincarnation breakthroughs. They have access to the Lighthouse, and through that the Comet Crestone. If we want Simon to even begin on persistent companions this is the way to go.

If Simon can get the Berserker, that will be such a huge power multiplier for future reigns; it wouldn't even be funny. I gotta go with the dragons, plus they've been a threat since the earliest reigns, we need to finally check them off the list
How would berserker be good. Simon can already use the rune magic.
Pfff at least make some of them boring so we don’t get so much choice anxiety… you probably already answered this, but I guess you don’t plan to write all the reigns you propose in the polls ? We ARE going to miss some of them right ? Not a criticism by the way. Just make the choice even more difficult :)
Naturally, some reigns will be dropped along the way, either because it doesn't make sense to continue or because the objectives have already been met with another reign. But I think we'll at least see one reign from each of them, if possible... there are 100 reigns and we haven't even reached 25 yet. I think there's a good chance we'll see a large portion of them.

AND he needs fast travel. The adventurer perk. I think it would allow him to get around teleportation wards
I’m voting Dragon cause I think it’s about time they are taken care of and Simon showed this reign he’s fully capable of holding his own in negotiations now. But why do I get the feeling it’s only at 50% because this is the first time Max has offered “dragon romance” to all you thirsty MFers?
I'm voting for it because I've wanted to know about how dragons think for ages. But realistically I suspect any dragon 'romance' would require Simon to be Vouivre's peer in some regard. Otherwise she'd just eat him
Is "access to the Adventurer and Necromancer crestones" the same as "acquisition"? We're not even strong enough to take down the Adventurer (level 70). I'm guessing access means we just learn what perks they have.
Lvl 60 overlord is more than a Match for a lvl 70 Adventurer
Gosh these are all great for different reasons. We're at a point where a lot of the future reigns can be planned for pretty thoroughly, since we know the major players and their motivations: Kingmaker for more Anna, possible Mardok Abyssal Chronicle unlocks, more Elios Magnos and possible lore of the Overlord Class. Solid choice. Vouivre, for Gargauth Abyssal Chronicle (likely the longest as his final reign was 200+ years and he had 12-13), figuring out what the Beast Crestone is and does, nailing down Casval and Vouivre characters for better planning in the future. Another really solid choice. Simon the Archmage, for Remedia romance and a longer reign. As much as I liked Cocagne Affair its too early to go back, maybe further down the line. Also only provides one unlock, which is interesting. Sanctuary in the Sky is my choice. It's got a hidden path unlock, its been there forever, and it's about time for an Eole romance, especially with this reign being darker and more brutal. Plus its long and peaceful, a nice

Guys what are we doing? Simon is not strong enough for a proper partnership reign with Vouvire, he'll just end up getting touched for an entire reign. Please come to y'all senses and vote Archmage. More magic, more power, more cuckolding the ranger. We can ride the dragon from a position of power later.
Vouivre Must Be Destroyed. The levels & info we'll earn are important. But even more important is that we learn about our last mortal enemy (as opposed to the final bosses, that are the Zodiacs, Elios and the Oracle)

Remedia is my favorite character and I am very excited that Simon is going back eventually, but I agree with other posters that it's too soon. I'd rather Simon gather as much experience and knowledge as possible before returning to cocaine; that way, he has the best chance of having a truly satisfying reign there.

I feel like Archmage would fit best right now. Simon's got it bad for Remedia right now, and with the Cobweb burned, he's got an opportunity to relax and make her happy. And also, having a little lull in the action to write some fluff will release some of the tension (and be a change of pace for you the writer).

I voted with the feels of the last reign still strong lol. But as for plot the Vouivre arc makes the most sense. He will have intel on all of his enemies, for the most part. Still has to infiltrate Louis camp at some point
Going for the adventurer perk fast travel seems like a huge prio for Simon, especially if it works going to any place he have been in any prior reign

Let's go for dragon! But I'm looking forward to a longer Archmage Simon, that should be a great power up. Will be more useful if he has access to higher tier spells. At least tier 6.
I think once he figures out all of the threats, he can spend more time developing previous reigns without always wondering about how some threats come about. Obviously new threats will pop up here and there but it shouldn’t be as many.
That's hard. Maybe the Kingmaker is the best choice. Time to confront the fact that his relationship with Anna is never going to be the same.

I can't stomach Simon meeting Anna and Remedia again yet, because those won't be "his" Anna or Remedia.
The Adventurer is on the floating island. That is one cheaty stone he could devour. I KNOW he seems allergic to improve his options so he stops burning reigns because he is weak and with limited skills. But come on. THE ADVENTURER CRESTONE. Nab it!!!!
While I am a fan of the Fast Travel Perk and I would like Simon acquiring it in the future, the summoning spell and the Attic would resolve most of Simons needs for teleportation for a while. Choosing Sanctuary in the Sky just for the Adventurer Crestone seems insufficient to me.

My reasons for voting for Vouivre Delenda Est: 1) after the elves and the cobweb the only major threat Simon needs to learn more are the dragon siblings 2) the last few reigns have all been Simon infiltrating different organizations and this would be a fitting end to this “arc” of the story 3) even though Vouivre is a recurring antagonist we know almost nothing about her powers, whether she has a Crestone or not and nothing about dragons in this world in general 4) the Beast Class is the last class we know nothing about.
Sanctuary in the Sky in the Sky seems like it’s too early to do. It seems like a great vacation/healing arc to do after doing an especially evil reign. I feel like Simon can wait to do this afterwards. Cobweb into Vouiver arc flows better. Also conquering the world with Vouiver would be worth a lot of exp.
But the current one is an especially evil reign...
It is time to deal with the dragons. I am also curious about the beast crestone. Vouivre romance and Overlord dragon rider is just icing on the cake. A real tasty icing.

Vouiver reign would be really fun. Dragon riding and getting the Bard crestone sounds so cool. Vouiver also unlocks really cool reigns like Gargauth’s hoard.
I get the feeling Bard is going to have a performance or acting related perk that Simon could grab that would be perfect for all these “setup” and info gathering reigns. Just not sure how useful it’d be at say, level 80+
Glad to see my top options are the same for everyone. In a way the dragon one makes sense for keeping up with progress but sanctuary would be a much needed break for Simon and a redemption for what he made Eole go through this reign . I can totally see both . I don't think he is ready emotionally to go back to Anna . All these options are too good though

Simon literally just was with her last reign. He's still stressing over Anna when he sees her and that was one of his earliest reigns, it feels out of character for him to immediately go back to Remedia when he's not even over the end of his relationship with Anna.
I think all except the mage one makes sense now. It feels too early to go back to cocagne, absent some new revelation in this reign. I'd imagine Simon would want a better handle on other threats before he goes back, as well as possibly a higher level of miasmic archmage to gain access to higher level spells. I think all the others could make sense depending on how this reign shakes out. What has happened to Anna? Perhaps Simon wants to be able to prevent it in the future? Same thing for Eole, she seems like a perpetual victim and he needs to understand what he can do to sustainably help (as well as get a break in the sky sanctuary). Finally there are the dragons that have been a constant thorn in Simon's side since the very beginning and need to be dealt with. It seems Simon might finally have the power to productively do so and getting future access to the hoard seems like such an interesting thing. Suddenly Simon can finance things in a completely different way and he could combine the horde with the merchant to become a gacha gamer :D I think I'll go with Vouivre for now but might change!

Easiest choice since joining Patreon
I'm loathe to put Simon through two "evil" reigns in a row, and it feels like it's too soon for Simon to return to Remedia. Plus I'm one of the biggest Simon+Eole shippers, so that is an easy choice for me. The fact he might be able to get Fast Travel from the Adventurer Crestone is just icing on the cake. The birb needs a rest, even if she can't remember it!
I want dragon
I'll be waiting to see why Anna was kidnapped. Might be significant and would provoke Simon to do something about it. Remedia is a hard no. Too soon somehow. The Eole romance is questionable. She has never been someone Simon really crushes on and doing it feels wrong. The dragon reign starts to seem appropriate, but again, let's see Anna and how will Simon feel at the end.
I mean, did you forget the Adventurer reign? Literally the only reason he didn't end up with Eole during that reign was because he was with Anna the reign right before and wasn't over it. Even considering that Eole still brought an army of Kish and searched for Vouivre to risk herself for the chance she could free Simon from his sealing petrification.
Fast Travel consumption? 👀
Simon already has like… three methods of worldwide travel, and he doesn’t even have Teleport yet (The Attic, Overlord Call, Lord of the Demon Castle) Sure, none of them do *everything* Fast Travel does, but combined they cover nearly every use of FT.
I chose kingmaker purely because I want to see Elios Magnos

Consistently amazed by the number of pathways and options that we have and the forward planning of the author to have likely thought through most or if not all of the possible 100 reigns, yet consistently adapting the stories to the polls' options🔥🔥🫡
Simon having back to back evil reigins feels like a bit much personally
On one hand sure, but on the other it would set up a vacation reign more credibly. Going back to Berwick or the sky sanctuary might make more sense when Simon is more ground down. This reign is dark but is a bit revenge fueled. Another dark one after this seems like it would be a bit more taxing for Simon since he wouldn't be as fueld by rage.
Out of the possible options Vouivre is the only immediate threat that Simon needs to learn more to eliminate. The dragon reign seems the most fitting for now.

I really don't want to go back to Remedia so quickly, personally. I really want Simon to continue to solve a couple problems before he gets back to the romances, and Vouivere is top of that list.
