Hundred Reigns Poll (posted early to keep tension up)

Hello again,

So... since Mask of the Jester King is supposed to be relatively short, that I don't want you to guess when things end, and that there will be a huge surprise coming, I've exceptionally decided to put the next poll a bit earlier than usual. Options are a bit limited compared to last poll because of ??? will cause Simon to want to investigate visionary-related & loop mechanics, so they'll focus on gaining a bit more information about those.

As always, poll will conclude when Mask of the Jester King ends. Next chapter will drop in a few hours as usual, so enjoy ;)

1) The Church of the Stars: Requiring Astrology and Chronomancy research that only the Church of the Light and a certain person can provide, Simon approaches High Confessor Mastemo with an offer he cannot refuse. Now the realm's newest Templar-in-training, Simon moves to their Lighthouse in the Valendre region, where dark truths hide buried in holy sepulchers...

Contains: Insight into the Church Party, new powers, new mentor & allies, info on Noble Crestones, the Zodiac Fiends and time-travel mechanics.

Length: Medium

Unlocks: Mastemo’s Angels, the Cocagne Affair, the World of Ruins.

2) The Queen in Crimson: Determined to unlock his latent Visionary and Darkblood potential, Simon enters Justine Eligos’ service as a diabolist in training. Now splitting his time before summoning demons and entertaining his new eccentric mistress, Simon is finally free to explore his secondary passion: theater. The world is not yet ready for impresario Simon…

Contains: new rituals, diabolism, and performance spells, new powers, insight into the reigns, Necromancer, Monk & Bard Crestone locations, and an orgy.

Length: medium

Unlocks: The Pirate King, The Song of Bujan, Blades of the Orient.

I do think Visionary makes a lot more sense to get before heading the church route, yet it seems like that isn’t going to win.

So I know the Church description no longer contains Norbelle, but I still hope we get a little more info about her in that arc. It feels weird that we know nothing about one of the Magnos powerhouses, we didn't even meet her, only her summons. Gimme some imaginary tea already! Edit: After reading the next chapter, I would like to change this comment to "We need more Norbelle."

Diabolism and Necromancy come on guys, that's Peak... especially the orgy, who cares about the stars

Whelp. I forgot about the orgy. Going to change my vote now. We gotta for our boy Simon. He needs to live a little

Dassein Looks 40

M
Misatek · January 16, 2026

Yeah, I would at least have assumed he was in his 30s.

I think I've guessed what the huge surprise is. The mana sword lacking the Goddesses blessing is the clue I think. Edit: Also are these two loops exclusive?

So, something similar to mol?

Stars. Stop fucking with us.

Odd theory, but what if Mastemo is creating his own time-travel mechanism? It sounds unhinged, but the fact that the Church of the Stars now only mono focuses on Mastemo seems off. similarly, it offers both information on Noble Crestones ( which we’ve seen the Overlord class has some eerily similar resemblances to other Crestone abilities and perks) along with it saying it gives some insight into time-travel mechanics, makes it seem that Astrology allowed the High Confessor to learn more then he bargained for. There’s also a slight possibility that he could have uncovered remnants of Mardok’s research years ago, but with how many failsafes and contingencies the first Overlord put to make sure nobody found out about the Overlord classes real secret, it doesn’t seem plausible.

Time to make peace with Thalas and Euphemia, if it's possible at all. My vote is for the Church.

No Peace only war(War party path only pls)

Honestly, I feel like it's a better idea to open the poll early for all reigns, as they stay open for the entire reign anyways and it is always a small spoiler, even in longer reigns (it did imply Simon would die soon someway after dealing with the conspiracy last time)

HEY VH, I think your stories are super unique and you keep churning out quality chapters at breakneck pace. Half convinced you are 10 expertly trained chimps on typewriters working 16 hour shifts, but I really love seeing the notification for polls and new chaps. Please give simon extra eyeballs so he can see good. Simon with good vision->->-> 8888^)

One thing I find interesting is the subtle differences in the description of the church route this time. In the previous reign’s poll it says that Simon approaches Euphemia and Mastemo with an offer that they cannot refuse. This one only mentions Mastemo. Additionally the description for the previous poll had Norbelle in the description of people while this one doesn’t. It seems like even if you go on the same route, things will be subtly different depending on previous reigns.

I love how everyone is so engaged in this story

M

I think that going Church -> Queen of Crimson makes the most sense. First we will learn more crucial info regarding the astrology, reigns and visionary powers. Then Simon can develop his own pseudo visionary abilities and more diablerie that he seems to be incredibly talented in

C
CentaureHeart · January 16, 2026

Both sound great honestly (sorry that's not helpful)

G

I hope we go Church to progress towards getting the mage creststone.

D
D.A.Janik · January 16, 2026

I guess since there's going to be some shocking revelations, church of stars makes more sense. Not my favorite option, but it's probably very useful meta plot wise and also I'd like to get it out of the way.

O
Owen · January 16, 2026

Aw, I want to see theater kid Simon.

A
Alibhai · January 16, 2026

I think I will hold off on the final decision. Depending on the character interactions I might end up choosing the church Arc however I am currently defaulting to queen crimson.

M
Misatek · January 16, 2026

I chose the church both because it seems reasonable for Simon to get som big picture information about now, and visionary things seems more like a tool for making it further into reigns while astronomy gives an indication of where he actually needs and wants to go. Handling his family and getting levels/creststones is an instrumental goal to solve the overall issue of the pending apocalypse after all. Also, it feels like we've done a lot of demon and war-party stuff already so it would be nice to get some variation.

A
Abdilaahi Abdirahmaan · January 16, 2026

The Queen of Crimson is better first just so we can get done with the whole visionary stuff tbh

G
GenericName#4528 · January 16, 2026

The church of the stars gives info on being a visionary so doing crimson queen afterwards will probably be more successful.

A
Andreas Finn · January 16, 2026

Damn I chose Crimson because of the theater kid Simon but now that I also see the orgy part I suddenly feel like a creep who chose it for it. Don't get me wrong I would have chosen it for the orgy because I am in fact a creep but still.

T
Troglodyte · January 16, 2026

I was wondering, have we been told the ages of the different Magnos kids?

V
Void Herald · January 16, 2026

Louis 25/26, Lauriane 24, Dassein 23, Simon 20/21, Thalas 19, Norbelle 18 :)
