House Magnos Christmas Family Gallery
Hello everyone,
As promised a while back, I've commissioned the artist Dinovoila for a family gallery of House Magnos (including a certain cranky lich ancestor and deceased Overlord) and here's the final result! Hope you'll enjoy seeing those characters finally illustrated ;)

All this time, I thought they were all redheads, including Simon (well, except for Euphemia
Is it significant that Simon's class outfit for overlord is darker while his father's looks gilded with gold trimming? Is that a mark of Simon being over lower level than Belzam the Cruel, or of Simon's different interaction with the Overlord class?
Man, this entire time I've been imagining Louis as a short haired blonde and Simon as the only brunette in the family (making the term 'black sheep' all the more appropriate). Everyone else is pretty spot on to what I imagined so I'll give myself points for that. It looks great!

Norbelle looks pretty
Simon looks very similar to Euphemia and Norbelle, while Thalas looks like Dassein and Louis. If not for Simon teleporting to his mother’s skull, I would be reactivating that swapped at birth theory.
I always assumed that Euphemia was the cleric since she is the saint of the church. But it looks like her class is actually the judge.

I thought Simon had silver hair.

I honestly expected Balzam to be fat as hell: Dong Zhuo style. I expected Dassein to have the build Balzam has in the painting. Rlly good artwork tho
Does the overlord class come with the dragon crest or is it an artistic choice? Does the class armor design reflects the current owner?
It's not the Overlord armor (that one is on the cover), just an artistic choice to show the Manticore Emblem of house magnos on all characters ;)
Not going to lie, this portrait MAY have me change my vote to Jester for next reign. Or Academy. Simon really needs some family time

Their expressions are incredible ! I love Louis’s fox-like smile, you can just smell the ruthlessness and the world-conquering machinations. Laurianne looks much older and wiser than I imagined her, just like a reliable older sister. Dassein makes you want to go to the nearest bar and drink beers until morning with him 😁 Euphemia is regal, thalas looks like he’s trying to intimidate you (key word here is ‘trying’), maybe doing his best impression of his father and failing, Norbelle looks so young though! I love her playful expression, she seems like she matches Louis in character. Simon is probably my fav. He looks every bits the part of a bored imperial who’ve seen it all before. I thought he was smug at first but he just looks so done. Like he doesn’t want to be in the painting at all and is asking the painter “well ? Are you finished yet ?” And Elios of course, just hanging over there and looking creepy. Anyway, they look fantastic. A properly villainous-looking family at the reins of a world-ending empire.

Great family portrait I bet their Christmas dinners are to DIE for. Also are the siblings shown from oldest to youngest? Dassein looks the oldest and I don’t remember us getting a confirmation on their birth order. We know Thallas and Norbelle are younger than Simon because they were born to Euphemia after the conquest of the empire, while Simon was sired while in campaign. Also just a random thought, but Norbelle looks like a Otome game villainess with that look and pose.
Well we know Norbelle is the youngest so it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume so. Also, it is interesting to see that Simon is between the emperor and the empress, while all the other children are in the extremities
I hope Balzam had red hair when younger, or this looks like a Lannister situation.
Yeah, it was mentioned. When he choked his first wife to death Simon commented on how much he looked like his first two sons.
Will there later be illustrations for important side characters and antagonists?
Perhaps, I'll have to think of groupings that make sense first ;)

Nope, the Class outfit is on the cover ;) they're more or less identical in Overlord armor.

"Saint" is a title that the church of Light awards to its three eyed Visionaries.

So Dassim, Laurianne, Louis, Balzam, Simon, the Empress, Thalas, Norbelle, Elios? Please excuse the spelling. I think that’s the right order? EDIT: I posted this SECONDS before Void added the labels. While I’m happy to have the right order, I am devastated to have spelled so many names incorrectly. Here I thought I was a true fan 😭
Left side is the war part and right the Church party. Obviously farthest left is Elias. And the middle is Simon on the throne. Not sure why but I always imagined Simon with black or brown hair because he was a bastard.
I also imagined him as a brunette. Also, all his brothers are red heads, all sisters are blonde. Interesting he is also blonde.
