Anonymous Story Vote Experiment
Hello again everyone,
So from a cursory read of the current story poll it's looking like it's going to be another extremely close one. Considering it's been three near deadlocks in a row, I'm starting to wonder if leaving the results public and keeping only two options doesn't encourage evening things out or near ties.
Unfortunately, Patreon doesn't allow me to hide results in real time... but other applications like Strawpoll sidestep that issue. So I've set up one to check if there is a noticeable impact (and added a 'interested in neither story' option for those who don't care about either choice and would rather have a new story).

Just put your patreon name when the app asks for it so I can check you were indeed a patron when you answered it. The patron poll will take priority, so this is just a side-experiment on the side to see if one option stands out a lot more when the votes are hidden from everyone else. I'll eventually publish the general results once the main poll concludes.
Best regards,
Voidy.

When does the vote end?
Same time as the main one so mid-June.
I think it’s still going to be relatively close. Maybe 60/40
I vote Paypocalypse. Good satire is hard to find.
Yeah, three times in a row does sound like vote manipulation. I only saw the previous one. Then again, both stories are really strong, I want both of them to happen over time, even if I prefer Class Action to happen first.
Paypocalypse for funny deconstruction and office drama!
I vote for class action MC in paypocalypse world
I'll cast a Polymerization spell asap ;)
You know, if I wanted to, I could take all the names of all the people that commented on your stories recently and vote as them. Might not be a big problem, since you could check whether someone voted more than once, but it could be an extra hassle at the very least.
Strawpoll only allows one vote per IP address and prevents VPN use. I'm sure a determined person could probably figure a way around this... but that's a lot of effort to cheat on a poll XD the issue is that the only other fireproof test would be to ask for email address but I'm pretty most people wouldn't be comfortable sharing it on an anonymous poll.
Truly, the answer is that we are all colluding to make this as annoying as possible.
I had voted for the cosplay story, but i wasn't that interested in it, so the "neither option" addition was good.
Definitively gonna add that option in future polls yeah; if a sizable part of the patrons don't like either story I should probably start reworking the premises or offering another.
I don't to think that's the case. There's been a few not split votes before this. I think the issue is that you keep making two highly appealing options. I know personally I'm torn or "tied" between the two you just posted!
Ah XD well we'll see but if the secret poll's results are near the same as the public one and the 'neither' option stays small I'll probably re-offer the losing option in a future poll like Paypocalypse.
I think that the straw poll would have worked at first to prevent people from voting to even the amounts but after the fact I don't think it will work because I'd imagine people will just vote they way they voted before which would make it even
Hindsight is 20/20 but we'll see XD
I am glad it is leaning slightly Paypocalypse hope it wins lol.
If you mean the public poll it's literally two votes apart right now, so not that much of a lead XD as for the secret poll, won't share results until the end.
OwO
Im Indeed curious to see if there is a difference
Yeah it's unfortunate that we're seeing people voting to deliberately even things up, although I do still think that the results being even says something (that neither option seems like a dud to many patrons). Hope this one goes better.
Well, I think we'll see quickly. If there's a significant gap between the public and anonymous votes I'll probably have to alter my methodology in the future XD
Don’t mind me just commenting to know what I put as my patron name
I'm not sure I understand, you want to know what name appears as in your answer? EDIT: ah ok I get it now XD
