I have epilepsy and yes, the flashing lights in aliens can be a bit rough. However, it does add to how tense the scene is, for me. Really makes the ending to alien movies more engaging

Love it! I grew up right by Moffet Field (if you've watched Myth Busters they did a few episodes shot in the blimp hangars there) and we always had field trips to go play in the cockpits of decommissioned aircraft and run around in the hangars. Also, I had a neighbor who had been a Navy fighter pilot (he rolled his eyes at Top Gun) and, in the 80s, built his own plane from mail order parts. After leaving the military he became an engineer for NASA so he actually knew what he was doing and it was an ultralight so not as complicated. And Aliens is one of my favorite movies of all time. I've never been able to separate Lance Henriksen from Bishop (with the exception of Pumpkinhead) because he was so freaking good. Final aside: Tom Cruise was hot in Top Gun but I was way more into Val Kilmer.
