Website 2.0

Today I am launching version 2.0 of comicbookreadingorders.com!

While the layout looks much the same it as a bunch of features added to it that I hope everyone will find useful:

• Marvel Unlimited links. 23,000 issues! Great timing!

• Track your progress. You can now track your progress on reading orders by marking issues as read. On the Event Timeline pages you can also mark entire events as read. Progress is tracked across all reading orders, for example if you are reading the Avengers reading order and mark Avengers Vol. 3 #45 as read, it will mark that issue as read in every reading order it appears on. If you don't log in to the website progress is only tracked on the browser/device you are using. If you log in with Patreon (even a free Patreon account) progress is saved and synced across your devices.

• My Progress. In the footer there is a My Progress link that will take you to a page showing your progress across all reading orders.

• Patreon-exclusive reading orders. This acts the same as the last site update. If you are a paid Patreon member and log in with Patreon the exclusive reading orders show up on the website just like any other reading order and all the same tracking features work on them as well.

• Dark Mode. Switch back and forth between Dark and Light mode using the toggle in the top-left of the website.

• Essentials only. As I mentioned in the last monthly update essential reading orders will be added to many existing reading orders. Instead of a separate tab this is now integrated into the regular reading order. Essential issues are marked and there is an "Essentials issues only" box you can tick to only show the essential issues. So far this is only on the Civil War reading order but will be expanded to other reading others soon.

• Guides. On the main menu you will see there is an option for Guides, this is something I have wanted to do for a long time. Currently there are none posted but this will change in the near future.

• Improved Search. The search page is now much more useful. Searching for an issue will list all the reading orders that issue appears in.

• Polish. The site has had a ton of polish done on it. A lot of volume numbers have been fixed. There were many variations of things across the website; first appearance notes, issue comments, inaccurate issue names, reading order layouts, and several others. All these have now been standardized across the website. This step alone would have made this the biggest site update in its history.

• A bunch of other features and updates but they are mostly behind the scenes. Suffice it to say the site is leaner, faster, and easier to update.

Don't worry if you still see the old site or get an error instead of the website. This is because the DNS is currently propagating from the old site to the new site. Everything should be cleared up within 24 hours.

This has been a huge update and the support from the Patreon members has been instrumental. It is your support that allows me to work on the website and continue working on it in the future. I am grateful beyond words for each and every one of you. Thank you for being part of this, and I can’t wait to share what comes next.
