June Patreon Update

Welcome again to another update.

The updates to the DC Character reading orders are finished. Currently there is a minor problem on the backend preventing me from updating the last half a dozen reading orders but I'm hoping to get it fixed in the next day or two and get the updates posted.

This month also saw the release of the Complete X-Men Reading Order. I explained it in its release post but I'll do so again here so all the free members know about it as well. The Complete X-Men Reading Order is the first of several reading orders that will cover their own "corner" of the Marvel or DC Universe. For example the Complete X-Men Reading Order covers all the X-Men teams; Uncanny, X-Force, X-Factor, New Mutants, Excalibur, etc. It also covers individual comic runs of various mutants; Wolverine, Emma Frost, Gambit, Magneto, etc. It includes all mutant focused events. The reading order currently includes roughly 4350 issues (plus events) but this is just the first iteration of the reading order, I'm currently planning an update to it that will add several hundred issues.

Future reading orders in the "Complete" style will be Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man. For example the Batman version would include all of Batman's various comics, as well as all the Robins, Batgirls, Azrael, Catwoman, Huntress, all the Batman villains, etc., as well as Bat-centric events.

Also released this month was a Titans Reading Order, following the classic lineup of Nightwing, Wally West, Cyborg, Raven, Starfire, and Beast Boy from when they moved on from the Teen Titans and became the Titans.

Since the beginning of the Patreon 2.0 there has always been a major project I've been working on each month. First it was updates to the Marvel and DC Master Reading Orders, then it was updating all the character reading orders. It is still too early for the next update to the Master Reading Orders so while there currently isn't one major project I'm working on, there are several smaller things I will be doing to improve the website:

• Working on requested reading orders (Winter Soldier/Bucky, Onomatopoeia)

• Continue working on new reading orders (Invincible)

• Go through all the contact form messages for reading order errors and fixes (currently around 400 messages)

• Expand some of the reading orders that skip over large periods of a characters history (mainly DC)

• Work on V.2 of the Complete X-Men Reading Order

• Fix Volume numbers. Several characters volume numbers aren't the same as the ones on marvel.fandom.com and dc.fandom.com

• Go through the character reading orders and make sure all issues are included in the Master Reading Orders.

• Make sure first appearances of characters are included in all Character (and Master) reading orders.

• Mark where New 52, Rebirth, Marvel NOW!, etc. start in the character reading orders.

• Explore new reading orders for new comic universes (Energon, Massive, etc.)

• Update all the reading orders to the current, more efficient layout (several hundred)

So while there isn't some big flashy project I'm working on there are tons of smaller things being worked on the improve the quality of the reading orders and the site itself. If you have any requests for reading orders please post them in the comments or send a request via the Contact page on the website. Once again a massive thank you to all the Patreon supporters, your continued support means everything to me and I hope to continue working with you to build the best reading order site on the internet!
