World of Secrets: Development Update #38

Greetings, Seekers of Secrets,

We've been working on 0.6.8 since the release of 0.6.7, and we're getting close to the end. Here's where things stand.

What's in 0.6.8?

0.6.7 ended at the cabin, right at that moment. 0.6.8 picks up exactly there. The whole update takes place at the cabin, and everything that happens there follows directly from what began in 0.6.7. We're not going to share details. We don't want to describe this scene in a dev update. We want you to play it.

Let's Be Honest About Length

0.6.8 will be about half the size of the previous update. We're telling you this upfront, but shorter doesn't mean lighter. There's no filler in this one; from start to finish, you're right at the heart of where the story is now. We think you'll come away satisfied.

How Much Longer?

We're not giving a date, but we can say this: the writing is done, the scenes and the code are in place, and what's left is testing and final checks. In practice, that means a few animations and a handful of in-between renders that aren't consistent yet. This is the last dev update you'll read before 0.6.8 comes out. In other words, not long.

And 0.7.0

We've always said that every intermediate version is one more step toward 0.7.0. With 0.6.8, that distance has gotten a lot shorter. Preparations for 0.7.0 have never stopped behind the scenes, and the big transition is no longer a distant plan. It's what comes next.
