World of Secrets – Let’s Set the Record Straight (Q&A)

Greetings, Seekers of Secrets,

Let's dive into this post and answer all your questions! But first, please read through the general questions and answers we've compiled below. If you have any other questions, feel free to comment under this post and await our response.

Q: What's Next for World of Secrets?

A: We plan to release the upcoming update in August and discuss a new game mode. Those who have followed us from the beginning know that we intended to include both visual novel and interactive game modes. However, we initially started with an open-world approach. Based on recent feedback, we decided to introduce a game mode change. The game's foundation will now pivot to a visual novel format with storyline flow adjustments. Alongside this, we'll offer a more content-rich, open-world sandbox mode that includes independent, mixed events and ties back to the main storyline. We're working diligently to release this update in this new format.

Moreover, while we completed our 3D map using Unreal Engine and Blender, we decided not to use it in this game. Instead, we'll utilize it in our future Unreal Engine 5 project. Many of you have mentioned that the 3D map was confusing. Therefore, we're excited to inform you that we'll use a Google Maps-style map in the upcoming update. This new map will feature icons and labels, ensuring it remains clear and user-friendly. This change will be implemented in the sandbox mode, not in the visual novel mode.

Q: Why is the game constantly getting reworked or remade?

A: World of Secrets has never undergone a rework or remake under its own name. The previous transition period was independent of RWA Studios and World of Secrets. The current updates and changes are not reworks or remakes. The game has not been officially completed or released; it is still in the development phase. Therefore, the changes made during this period cannot be classified as reworks or remakes because there is nothing finalized yet. The updates we publish on Patreon are part of the development process, allowing you, our valued supporters, to be involved in the game's progression and help ensure it becomes a well-established and complete project through your feedback and support.

Q: What happened to Silent House? Why was the name changed from VilkasCreative? What is RWA Studios?

A: I am and Dallas the founder of RWA Studios, and we operate under this studio name. Along with Dallas, we have a solid background in Unreal Engine, and we have been mastering the program for a long time. Our goal is to create high-quality games using Unreal Engine in the future. Currently, we also provide our expertise in coding, music, sound effects, and other technical aspects under the RWA Studios name. Our team is comprised of experienced professionals who have been in the industry for a long time. Many of the games we have contributed to are available on Steam, including some major titles.

In addition to this company we founded, we were also working on different projects. Dallas, for instance, had dedicated himself to this work with another partner. As for Silent House and VilkasCreative, these were part of a previous phase that was independent of RWA Studios and World of Secrets. The transition and changes you are seeing now are part of our effort to streamline our operations and focus on delivering high-quality content under the RWA Studios brand. We aim to bring a level of professionalism and dedication to our projects that reflects our experience and passion for game development.

In summary, RWA Studios represents a new chapter in our journey, where we aim to create exceptional gaming experiences using our expertise in Unreal Engine and other technical fields. Your support and feedback are crucial in helping us achieve these goals and bring our vision to life.

Q: What was Silent House, and why did it transform into World of Secrets?

A: World of Secrets was one of our initial and most important projects on Patreon. Initially envisioned as an adult game built in Unreal Engine 5 with FPS/TPS mechanics, it was set to offer a unique and immersive experience. However, due to evolving circumstances, we decided to develop it as an open-world game using Ren'Py. Despite these changes, we are pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved with Ren'Py, showcasing its potential for creating rich, interactive worlds.

Our goal with World of Secrets is to innovate within the adult gaming industry, offering a fresh and expansive open-world experience. We aim to break the mold of repetitive content and address the decline in open-world adult games. By dedicating our efforts to this project, we hope to set a new standard and inspire the industry to explore more diverse and ambitious game designs.

Q: How did Dallas become involved with World of Secrets, and what led to its transformation from Silent House?

A: My friend and long-time team member, Dallas, is a talented designer specializing in 3D adult games. We've been working together on various Unreal Engine 5 projects for years. Over the years, he has worked on several notable titles, including Lust of Pain, Silent House, and most recently, Lesson in Loyalty. During the development of Lust of Pain, Dallas encountered significant issues with his partner Vilkas, which hindered the progress and overall quality of the project. In an effort to help him overcome these challenges, I introduced a draft project titled World of Secrets. This open-world adult game, planned to be developed using Unreal Engine 5, was restructured to assist Dallas and get things back on track. To avoid the impression of being a copy or giving off a feeling of plagiarism, we decided it would be best to release the project as a visual novel named Silent House, concealing its true nature. However, things took a different turn later on.

Subsequent events led Vilkas to leave and focus on Lust of Pain, leaving Dallas to work alone on Silent House. As detailed at this link, the situation evolved, and I took over the development of Silent House. Since then, Dallas and I have been working together. He now spends more time with me, and we are developing this open-world game together.

This renewal process represents the original story, characters, and development path of RWA Studios as envisioned by we, its founder. Any games developed or abandoned before weinvolvement have no connection to RWA Studios. All projects under Vilkas Creative are independent of RWA Studios.

Q: What will happen next?

A: RWA Studios primarily develops and supports A, AA, and sometimes AAA games. As I mentioned earlier, it is a mediator company with team members skilled in software and other areas. However, our goal is to make our own games under this company name in the future. This Patreon is managed solely by we, the founders of RWA Studios, and I work with Dallas as a team of two. We handle every aspect of the project. Our team's work is different because we currently do not have the position to employ them based on revenue. In the future, we may be able to compensate our existing team for their efforts and include them here, becoming a much larger adult content game developer.

Sorry.. the translator failed... what I mean is how much time did it take per day to work on this game?

R
RWA Studios · July 23, 2024

Ah, no problem... The amount of time we spend working on the game each day varies, but on average, we dedicate about three-quarters of our day to it. This can fluctuate depending on the specific tasks or challenges we are facing at any given time. Sometimes we spend entire days troubleshooting and refining mechanics, while other days might be more focused on creating new content or polishing existing features.

How much time do you spend playing the game per day? The truth

R
RWA Studios · July 23, 2024

Actually, we don't spend time playing our own game on a daily basis. We have a dedicated testing team for that purpose. As developers, we are essentially playing the game all day while working on it, often in developer mode. This means we don't catch many of the bugs and issues that players might encounter. During our initial testing phases, we identify most of the major issues, but in open-world games, bugs can become familiar over time and harder to spot by the same person. Since there are multiple paths and variables, it requires more than one person to play through the game. Therefore, we rely heavily on our testing team to play through and test the game from start to finish. However, we have noticed several issues with the save files in the latest update.
