Quaint Village School [30x48]
Hey everyone!
Welcome to the Quaint Village School. The layout is based on the Victorian era school that Cze attended as a child. We tried to convey a sense of safety with the wall and trees encircling the school grounds. And then undermine that in some of the variations, like Dark Presence, which is a great setup for defending the school at night from monsters in the trees.
This school is the latest map in our peaceful village series. We got a lot of messages and comments after the last map that you wanted more, so we're glad to oblige!
Here are the remaining buildings we're considering in this series:
- Butcher
- Baker
- Doctor
- Farmhouse
- Hunting Guild
- Witch's Hut
Let us know in the comments if there's any others you'd really like to see in this village. :)
Oh and for (hopefully) obvious reasons there wasn't a massacre variation this time. But we made a fun paint party variation instead!
Enjoy!

What about a party starter home? Like the adventurers guildhall, but super simple scale for the start of a campaign?
Looking forward to a bakery for my own selfish purposes (i.e. giving previous party members their happily-ever-after in my campaign after a 30 year time jump because last we left them they were working at a doughnut shop and I think that a warforged would just be really good at pie crusts because their hands wouldn't get the butter too warm before going in the oven).
I think the Hunting Guild would be great to have, plus the Witch's Hut! Still need an updated Creake map, though... master post containing links to all of the maps? Pretty please?
All the village maps are listed in their own section in this post: https://www.patreon.com/posts/ancient-map-room-24806981 We'll be making some new maps in the Creake village style but it's a work in progress. We don't charge for that content so it's something we have to find fime for between battlemaps. :)
Could I ask what you use for maps? Is it dungeondraft? And if so what/who's assets do you use? I love the trees
Every map is handdrawn by us in Photoshop. :)
In order of priority, I would prefer doctor first as village grocer already has butcher & baker aisles + baba yaga domain map already covers witch hut option. Hunting Guild would be interesting as accompanying piece to Grand Hunter House map
If you're doing a Butcher and a Baker, surely you'd need to do a Candlestick Maker
Huh, I hadn't even considered that!
the paint party version of this map is so cute, such a fun idea!! Thanks!! <3
What about a common guard post? Or maybe a town hall?
I imagine a village this small wouldn't need either of those but we are doing a series of town/city buildings and those would fit well there!
"Betcha 2 gold you won't go into the third stall of the haunted schoolhouse bathroom and sing the Headless Halfling song!"
I'm very happy that there was no massacre option for this map. Thank you for that consideration
I was sort of dreading it while scrolling down tbh.
I think a big, fantastical water mill would be very cool as a map! Something beyond a typical mill, something clearly magical in function or structure.
id love to see more maps that would work for the outer planes, both celestial and fiendish
Have you checked the website? There's a lot of maps that would fit both those themes. Although we have been meaning to make more Celestial maps.
I thought "where's whoops" and remembered this is the fantasy patreon. However, now I'd like to see a "whoops" version of the next magic themed map, such as a mage tower.
Witch's Hut would be my favourite of the buildings you mentioned! Love your maps <3
You have no idea how good this is! I have been running a campaign based on your village series as the world and been sending PCs to an academy at nearby town for classes so this is perfect for my future village expansion!
