Chthonic Lighthouse [31x79]

Hey everyone!

Welcome to the Chthonic Lighthouse, built by deep dwarves down in the dark seas below the earth. This lighthouse stands on the edge of an immense nethersea. Some say it was abandoned by the dwarves years ago, that they were forced out by fierce storms, spawning krakens or giant fungi, whatever the true story is, the lighthouse now stands here alone, blinking into the night of a starless sky.

For this map we made a ton of variations and also some interiors, so you can explore the insides and climb to the top, maybe as a defensive outpost or to extinguish the mysterious light.

Edit: Interior map size is 19x15

This map was a collaboration with our friend Sean over at McRoMusic! Sean made an excellent track titled Leading Light to accompany this map. If you enjoy this track and use it with the map in your sessions, remember to be a patron of Sean's patreon. :)

A final heads up for Foundry users that on Monday we'll be moving the Foundry VTT content to the $10 tier. You can still grab any of the current links as we won't be changing them for the foreseeable future. In case you missed the discussion, check this post.

The big Foundry update includes:

  • Upgraded lighting/walls/lighting effects

  • Consistent naming convention

  • Moulinette integration

We'll also hopefully have the Foundry maps ready a lot quicker now. And we'll be providing both the download link and the json module as that option has been requested too. We hope this quality of life increase is useful to a lot of you! :)

Great map! I ended up using a room from the Clock Tower as the lantern room...

Is there bonus material for the upper part of the lighthouse - the lantern room? If so, how do I access it? Thanks!

I am somewhat new to the online VTT gaming deal...can these be used with Roll20?

C
Czepeku · May 30, 2022

Yes, all our maps can be used with Roll20. Most of our patrons use Roll20 in fact! If you need help with importing maps, I suggest you join our discord, lots of people there would be happy to explain the process to you. :)

All versions are simply mesmerizing, especially the last two, where the lighthouse is overgrown with giant fungi.

There's always a man. There's always a lighthouse. There's always a city.

While I don't have a use for it in my campaigns right now, it's an amazing map! Having the interior helps extremely in finding a future use for it. I love the colorful variations, so pretty!! Gorgeous artwork!

Love having an interior and exterior. Now I can just plug this into my game with out having to go find a bunch of interiors.

YES! Same here. Every epic building or cave entrance should have a follow-up or built-in interior if possible. <3

Really nice and also nice to see more mp3 files that go along with the map. I don't always use them cuz well sometimes I aim for an atmosphere that does not Match but more often then not does it capture a great mood to go along with the maps
