All Aboard the Lightning Rail [5x14]
Hey everyone! Here's the long awaited Lightning Rail map!
We made 12 train cars altogether with alternate versions of some of those, like an empty version of the cargo car so you can fill it with whatever treasure your party wants to steal...
In the image at the top we've put together some ideas for different train cars you might want to use for getting across Eberron (or wherever else they may take you). The cars themselves are modular so you can arrange them however you like.
Check out all the cars here:

Edit: all patrons can get the tracks here.

Here's the full lineup of what cars each tier gets:
(each has a transparent background so you can overlay them on whatever map you want)

Hi! How do I get the animated tracks?
Hi, new to the Patreon (awesome stuff!). I see you have a mix of cars that show their interiors and cars with closed roofs -- but it is there a version of the engine/control room car with a closed roof? I'd like to do a scene for PCs running along the top of the train cars, but I can't seem to find an engine car with a roof.
Found it. Search for their "Train Station Platforms" pack and there's a little hyperlink at the end of the sentence "All patrons can get those assets here." Click the "here" and you'll get the engine car with a closed roof.
Is there anyway to combine the Foundry ready versions into one big map? Unsure if you can just copy and paste things, it probably wont work
Honestly we just make the maps, we're not experts at using Foundry. I'd ask either on our Discord or on the Foundry Discord. You'll find users there that have a better knowledge of these things.
Would you be willing to make a roof for these? It feels wrong to have a train encounter without the PCs going on top of these cars!
We plan to make a Lightning Rail Station eventually. When we do that, we'll try to add train roofs for these too. Unfortunately its difficult to spare time to continue old maps like these as we're always working on the next map. :)
Modular map sets like this, the airships, and the dragons are imho some of my absolute favorite and most helpful posts. While all your maps are beautiful, these ones lend themselves to so many unforseen possibilities and long-term multi-scenario usefulness, and I know I'll be using all of them. You might get a kick out of seeing this : I looped and animated the rails and dropped it on my VTT background to awesome results: https://imgur.com/a/gsLMh5r Anyway, I love this set, and really hope to see more of the variable-form stuff you guys do so well! Only note I gotta echo is that it could really use a small connector piece. Passenger trains and mysteries go hand in hand, and intrigue is vastly improved when passengers can plausibly move between cars.
The airship assaulting the train is very cool and creative! Modular maps have in general been our least popular which is why we don't focus on them but we plan to do more in future!
Potentially silly question--how do you envision players/characters travelling from one car to another?
Mainly a leap of faith!
+1 for railroad background
Just released them today! Enjoy.
Any way to get the rail and the background? I'd love a night version of the background!
