A year ago, our website subscriptions officially went live. We focused on replicating our top level patreon tiers that come with all the VTT and animated features, and though that's been successful we know that it's a lot of content that people might not need and at a price that's not feasible.
Now, we’re excited to announce our Essential Tiers!
We’ve always believed that great TTRPG art should be accessible to every GM, regardless of budget. The Essential Tier is our way of making that a reality: a more affordable entry point into the full Czepeku library, without compromising on the quality you’d expect from us.
What is the Essential Tier?
Every Czepeku project now features two tiers: Essential and Premium.
Whether you’re looking at Fantasy Maps, Scenes, Tokens, the Complete Fantasy bundle, or our Sci-Fi Bundle, you can now choose the option that works best for your needs and your budget.
The Essential Tier gives you access to all new releases and the complete back catalog for your subscription, with unlimited downloads, starting at $15/month.
(There’s also the option to get the Complete Fantasy Bundle - Essential for $30/month, which includes Maps, Scenes, and Tokens. Three subscriptions for the price of two.)
What about Premium?
Our original czepeku.com subscriptions are now the Premium Tier, our flagship option for those who want all the bells and whistles we have to offer. Starting at $25/month, it includes everything in Essential, plus:
Animated day & night variants for Maps and Scenes
Full Token Builder with unlimited customization
VTT integrations for Alchemy RPG, Owlbear Rodeo, Foundry, Encounter+, Roll20, and more

Why Use Czepeku.com?
We launched our own website because we wanted to ensure we always have full control over the experience we provide for you. We wanted to be able to act on all of the amazing feedback that we receive from our community, which we couldn't do on a third-party platform like Patreon.
Since we launched our website, we've been able to improve everything from our search tools and the browsing experience of our visual galleries, to better download times and options. It is seriously the best place to search and find the maps.
We’re able to offer new ways to interact with our art with our Token Builder and our interactive tool for Vistas.
And we have so many more features on the roadmap that we’re excited to share with you soon! The value of the website is going to keep improving as more projects (including our own TTRPG) get released later this year.

Small addition but I really don’t understand how patreon is the cheaper option overall when you have to pay a middleman fee. Should be a red flag for your website model
It's cheaper for the customers that pay more than our website subscriptions each month which is about 80% of our subscribers. For anybody else limiting to less than $15 per month, they are absolutely welcome to just maintain their Patreon Subscription!
This “simple” breakdown doesn’t seem simple. 15$ monthly gets you everything, but then not animated? Ok $30 gets you everything, but only for fantasy or sci fi or tokens or maps. It just makes it really difficult to get a true all in one package without having 4+ subscriptions on your own site. Especially when the lowest patreon tiers are $5 each, can be capped at 1 creation per month and still get all benefits. If you’re trying to target the value oriented customer, the math just doesn’t equal a deal. If you’re trying to target the premium customer, it just adds confusion on what “everything” means and again, still paying more to get really “everything”.
I think the breakdown on the website itself is the easiest way to look at everything! https://www.czepeku.com/fantasy#subscribe There should definitely be no need to have 4 individual subscriptions either when we have bundles available at each tier for that very reason. The Patreon tier is indeed $5 per creation, but the majority of our subscribers at that level pay $25-30 per month so this does work out much cheaper. For anybody that prefers to limit to $5 per month, they should absolutely just remain on Patreon! It's simply another option that's all :)
Can you say more about Roll20 integration? It's the first I've heard of it from any creator I follow.
Absolutely! On the website our maps can be downloaded in a UVTT format which can then be quickly imported into Roll20 :)
I hate to say this, but I think I would rather go on the Essential Tier at $30/month than stay as a $5 Scenes and $5 Maps patreon. It will save me some money.
Why do you hate to say it? We set it up specifically so people would switch if it was better for them. :)

Hi Austin! We don't currently have a website equivalent of the $1 tier. This Essentials Tier is the equivalent of our Master Cartographer ($5 per creation, $30 per month) which is priced at $15 per month on the website.
Assuming I'm understanding this correctly I'm really excited. I'm currently a Master Cartogropher for full access to all map variations. Direct VTT compatability and animated maps are less of a priority for me and my budget. It sounds like for around an extra $5/month I can still have that but also gain access to scenes and all their variants and pre-made tokens? That is so incredibly generous.
Hi there! It all truly depends on how many creations you pay for per month. But yes, our premium bundle including all VTT, Animated Variations and Customisable Tokens is $50 USD per month which does indeed grant access to our entire collection! Or alternatively, our Essential Tier is $30 per month, which just loses the Animated Variations, VTT integration and Token Editor. I hope that helps!
I would love to support you on your own platform but I am a bit confused regarding the prices? 🤔 Here on Patreon I have the 5$ "Master Cartographer" subscription that gives me access to all maps (which is what I am looking for, I don't need a VTT integration). However the "Essential Tier" for Maps on your website costs 10 $, while also giving access to all maps, no VTTs included🤔 I would have expected them to be at least equal, but maybe I am missing something 🤔 Could I interest you in explaining the difference between the Patreon "Master Carographer" Tier and the "Essentials Tier" from your page? 😅 And can I also interest you in considering to add a similar "Master Cartographer" like tier to your website? 😬
The Essentials Tier is equivalent to the Master Cartographer tier :) I think your confusion is based around the $5 tier being pay per creation rather than per month. The majority of our $5 subscribers pay $25 to $30 per month so this in fact saves them around 50% on their payments. Some people choose to limit their payments to 1 or 2 per month, and for those people, the Patreon will probably continue to be their preference which is absolutely fine!
That's your idea of 'accessible to all GMs'? This 'essential tier' is one of the most expensive monthlies for maps I've seen.
It works out as 50% cheaper than our $5 per creation ($30 per month) Patreon tier. It's also $15 for over 7 years worth of our work and almost 9,000 different map variations. If people prefer the Patreon tiers, they can always still choose to stick with Patreon :)
Ya'all are always the first place I visit when I have a vision for a battle. And one of our top rope models for what is possible, keep up the great work!
honestly I would rather just buy one map that I'm interested in. i need a map once every so often and getting a subscription, then cancelling it is not convenient... your maps are all amazing, but I simply don't need this many 😁
I understand that way of thinking, but unfortunately it's very difficult to predict income month on month with individual purchases. When people subscribe and support us long term, which often works out much cheaper than purchasing packs individually. It allows us to provide job security for our team which is very important to us.
