Poll: Help us to decide physical map themes!

Hey everyone! After focusing on just digital products for 6 years we're finally ready to start making physical versions of our maps.

Our current plan is to split the maps into thick paper/card tiles (they're far too large to print as posters) and have themed boxes containing around 30 battlemaps. There's some mockups below!

We're wondering how many different themes to include and which themes might be popular, so please vote below and let us know what the general theme of your campaign (or upcoming campaign) is so we can get an idea of which might be most popular.

Some of the options are more focused on biome and some are more on culture/historic period.

The poll is multiple choice so tick all that apply!

And if you have any thoughts about the product in general, we'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments or on Discord.

Give me them All! Card stock or vinyl would be amazing!

I am an online only dm, since i do not know enough people in real life to play dnd with, so i cannot speak for the people who play it on their kitchen table. However, i do think combining this with the vista's would be a good starting point. that way dm's also have a broad map to connect said maps. you could even combine it with the results of the adventure writing contest for a complete dm package or collab with other dnd artist/writers. Currently i am running a Heliana's monster hunting campaign, who uses your maps (except i opted to use different maps instead). they even got a desert focused adventure in production if you want a more coherent package.

I think this is very cool. Personally I like the fey and desert maps, but I see they're not popular in the poll.

Running two Daggerheart campaigns involving floating islands... need those!

I would love to be able to buy pdf versions of the tiles too. Even better if they’re mix and match-able. All my friends live far away, so I only run online now….

The printed maps are just physical versions of the maps we provide here on our Patreon or through our website. So you already have access to those. :)

I did vote for it and see that it's the majority right now, but just wanted to chip with the reasoning. I think the maps you have made which are of small towns, meadows, farms and other rural areas are going to be what the most people will get use out of. Lots of DMs are much more able and wanting to make the first few sessions of a campaign a really nice and super presentable occasion even if they can't afford physical maps on a regular basis.

Please please do these out of drywipe/waterproof poster type paper- I have another brand which used thick cardstock for their tiles and after barely a few uses, the printed layer has separated from the grey core. Would be great to have modular room/ town buildings too <3

I personally have a need for sea maps or western maps for two campaigns I want to run, but I don't know how many other people would need them.

I do think Eldritch and epic maps would be more distinct than other woodland/village map pack, despite how broadly useful such maps are

Physical maps would be incredible! I've been looking into ways to print some of your digital assets without tiling, and am thinking of trying a large-scale canvas print (not stretched, just flat). I'm hoping it might solve the curling issue of printing on paper, but wanted to mention it in case anyone else has tried or it might be a solution here!

I only run D&D in person and use your maps a lot either printed or as a reference point and try to draw them by hand so having an actual physical map would be incredible!

Really hope there’s some underwater options! Running an Atlantis type kingdom arc and it’s actually been difficult to find maps for it!

I'm in the middle of running Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden. I have been able to use a few of your maps, but not as many as I would hope. Considering it is one of the main, official WOTC 5e campaigns/environments it would be great if there was some emphasis on having good winter maps. That being said, I appreciate it's not getting a lot of votes above, and I will still be continuing to use digital assets (including the soon to arrive Bastions n Guild Halls beta :D ). But, you're at least giving me a place to ask for more Snow! :D p.s. Notably - I have also purchased the new 2024 Starter Set from WOTC and they have done great things with their poster size maps in that kit - so, not sure about writing off that option outright.

Physical tile versions of your maps would be incredible! I pretty much exclusively use your maps these days, but it takes forever to stick the photo-paper prints to cardstock and cut out revealable tiles XD I'll buy literally everything you produce in this range! :D

The issue I'm seeing is that paper cards slide around the table, especially once people start moving minis around them. You would need to include some sort of frame to hold them together, and that's going to be difficult unless you standardized the map size to fit within them -- and then at that point you might as well poster-print them.

C

That's definitely a concern/consideration. The alternatives are posters rolled in tubes, which curl. Or posters that are folded which have curved creases. It's quite difficult to find a perfect option. The best of all possible worlds would be a thick board game style fold up map, but those would be prohibitively expensive.

Any plans to do this with sci-fi maps?

C
Czepeku · November 26, 2025

We're considering it. There'll be some pretty big changes coming to the sci-fi projects in 2026. Announcements about that soon.

What about category for Dungeons?

C
Czepeku · November 26, 2025

We have very few generic dungeons so they'd fit into the themes above. For example the Couatl Temple dungeon would be in either the jungle or swamp pack I think. Likewise the Hell Prison would be in the Hells/Volcano.
