Timelapse and Thoughts - "Movie Magic"

GAH! Almost forgot to upload the timelapse today, but it's not midnight YET, so technically we're still good(?) and I'm just gonna stick to that.
In the comic post, I mentioned that this used to have a different ending and I had a basic sketch for it, but it seems like I just flatout overwrote it when I made the new sketch, so bleh. Basically, the ending used to be what Panel4 roughly is right now: Veronica was gonna see the wrong disc in P3, they were all gonna have a laugh about it in P4, then P5 would've been them standing there anxiously as the laughter slowly died down, until P6 Layla goes: "....we ARE gonna watch this though, right?" to everyone's agreement. (Veronica hesitantly: "M-maybe just a little...?").
But then that would've been the end of the comic! Just an abrupt stop! I thought it would be more fun to actually show them watching the "movie" together, rather than just have it be implied, so I eventually came up with the idea of changing the punchline to: "It looks like a cheesy porno, but they actually get really invested in the plot, and it felt WAY better - I redid the sketchwork almost immediately lol
It feels obvious to say, but I think the speed at which an artist draws is tied to how much they love the idea they're drawing. I've had comics in the past that I whipped up in just two days because I really, really liked the idea; That old comic where Veronica drinks too much coffee and starts vibrating was one of them - granted, that was during my "who needs backgrounds?" era, so that might've also played a part in why it got done so quick 🙃 Big props to all my longtime readers who were around back then, scorching your poor retinas trying to read small text on those blindingly-white backgrounds. But you did it! I should've known the indomitable human spirit stops at nothing when big boobs and fat butts are at stake.

Now that the Veronica plushies have been distributed, I think I'm ready to start finalizing the Mona plushie! I've never worked with Ownaj before (obviously, I have no other plushies lol), so I wanted to make sure the manufacturing and shipping went OK before I started selling a second plushie, but it looks like everything went smoothly, so I'm ready to keep the plushie train moving :) I don't know how much stuffing they can fit into these things, but here's hoping they can give Mona the butt she deserves!

And with that, I'm gonna go bundle up in bed, because I am COLD AAAA it's fucking freezing out there! Don't get me wrong; I much prefer being cold to being sweaty, but sheesh - I'd at least like to open my window a bit without making my coffee ice over. Hope you're all keeping warm out there! 💚
